I was buying my first car with my mom, and no he did not sell me my car! I came back a week later for a tank of gas because of a promotion they were running; with a girlfriend of mine stopping by on the way to get some icecream. We pull in and this guy inside the dealership starts running around asking all the guys if they’ll help me. Will was working late because of a car deal, loomed up and said “I’ll help!”. I handed my keys off and we waited for my car to be brought back. When he came back, he made a comment about my tassel hanging on my rear view mirror that made me think he went to my school. We exhanged names, shook hands, and I drove off. I had my girlfriend type his name into my Facebook search so I could look into him later, & later found out he did not go to my school.
We added eachother and exchanged messages, and he offered to take me out that Friday, 2 days later. He came to pick me up, shook my step-dads hand - and chatted with my parents for a bit. We went to Erwin Park to build a fire but had no way of starting one and went to BJ’s Brew House (where my girlfriend was supposed to be our server) for drinks and some food instead. As the night passed we talked and talked, and both felt as if we had known eachother for so much longer - and the rest is history.
My mom, Jim, Will, and I all woke up at 4AM to catch the sunrise. After feeling like we were in a wind tunnel, snapping pictures as the sun crept over the edge, we scattered back to the car for warmth. Finally we figured out the EXACT time the sun would be fully risen, and went back to snag more pictures of the full sunrise. Will told me thay he had found a spot while we were separated, and lead me to a beautiful outlook area. I snagged a few pictures of the sunrise and he offered to take my picture in one of my favorite poses. I stood with my back to him posed, & he told me “Ok turn around”. I fully expected to see his phone showing me the picture i thought he’d taken of me, and was SURPRISED to see him on one knee! Once i realized what was happening my knees made me drop down and gather my breathe, and I stood back up as he expressed his love. With tears in my eyes I said “yes!” rapidly nodding and smiling from ear to ear! We stood there embracing each other and soaking in the moment. He placed the ring on my finger; and squeals of excitement began, with more hugs and more kisses. I began to quickly scan the perimeter for my mom, and flashed her my hand with a big smile when I found her! Will had pointed out a dark figure in the rocks and asked if I saw what it was, & I said “that looks like a rock”. He replied, “its a photographer”, my knees went weak again & I was overwhelmed with the detail he went to. We began taking pictures and about 15 minutes later it started raining, and we even had a rainbow in front of us! We drove up the road (which had no shoulders and one lane each side) snapped a few pictures, kept driving to some aspen trees as the rain continued to pick up and and finished up our pictures. Drenched and cold we ran back to my parents car, where I find out they have sparkling wine, strawberries, and crescents in the trunk of the car. I was so overwhelmed with how amazingly well everyone did with keeping their poker faces and made it a HUGE SURPRISE!
