Our Story

Danielle and Tyler met in 2017, agreed on forever in 2020, and will say "I do" in 2022.

Our Engagement

Tyler's Perspective

As we arrive to the First House Pub in Winchester, the entire wait staff knew of my plan for the day as I had been emailing and calling them for months to accommodate any unexpected occurrences as this was the height of the Covid-19 shutdowns. They offered to take our pictures, each member of the wait staff came over and said hello, checked in on us far more frequently than usual, all while somehow not letting Danielle know of what would occur later on. They were so friendly that Danielle even remarked at how great their service has become since our last visit and they must have really missed having customers. Danielle enjoyed playing a game called “what’s in your pockets?” when we are at a location that would be ideal to propose. The game is exactly what it sounds like, she makes a joke about how great of a time it would be to propose, which I counter her by turning my pockets inside out. Thankfully today, I prepared for such games as I had the ring box tapped to my my leg which was shaved just for this occasion. I turned my pockets inside out, she laughed, and we drove down to the park to walk Brandy. Now we have some amazing friends, they warned me it was still too bright out for what I had in mind and they worked with the photographer to alter the location of the proposal to the perfect spot. So after a few texts, we decided to have Danielle and I walk beyond the proposal spot and then as we returned would propose. This almost did not work out as we walked by my two best friends Tommy and Tyler who were sitting only a few feet away As we successful pass them and after bugging Danielle for her to remove her sweatshirt so we could take selfies, we finally reach the bench I was waiting to reach. String lights turned on, Brandy got excited, I got on a knee, and Danielle said yes. The night concluded with me saying I forgot my credit card at the restaurant and us returning to an incredible engagement party with our friends and family at the First House Pub.

Our Engagement

Danielle's Perspective

On 8/15/2020, we brought Brandy to the restaurant we went to on our first date and ate outside. Then we planned to go for a walk around Horn Pond, which we also did on our first date. However, I tried to bypass the walk because I thought we were driving up to NH to visit my family. But Tyler kept insisting we walk Brandy because he didn’t want to “neglect” her. I thought he was being overly dramatic, but gave in to a short walk. While walking, Tyler started acting WEIRD. But that’s who he is, so I didn’t think much of it. For example, I borrowed his sweatshirt earlier in the night and he kept saying, “Are you really THAT cold?” He also kept fixating on random things and striking up conversation. For instance, we spent 5 minutes talking about landscaping as we stared at peoples’ yards. Come to later find out, Tyler had wanted me to take the sweatshirt off for the proposal pictures and he wanted to distract me so I wouldn’t notice we were walking by friends who were there for the engagement. Finally, we were getting closer to the car and Tyler suggested we take a selfie. All of a sudden the park was illuminated with beautiful lights. I remember saying “this is so pretty” and then “OH MY GOSH do you think that couple over there is getting engaged?!” (That’s how clueless I was.) Tyler said it was all for us as he recounted some amazing memories. I truly thought he was joking and trying to capitalize on someone else’s moment with the lights. So, I kept saying “shut up, Ty,” and “you’re kidding.” Then all of a sudden Tyler was on one knee holding the most beautiful ring I’d ever seen. But wait, there’s more! Tyler said he left his credit card at the restaurant and had to pick it up. You’d think at this point I would’ve questioned him, but nope! I believed him and found another huge surprise ahead of me - so many loved ones there to celebrate with us. To this day, I still can’t believe our engagement night was real. It felt like the most amazing dream.
