Danielle's Side: Twin Falls is not quite on the map for someone who has never heard of it, and that's the way it was for Rob. He was asked to come speak for a youth weekend, and come to Twin for the first time. He says that I said a quick "hi" and walked away, but either way, that was the very first meeting. He came back to Twin a few months later for the next youth event at my church and that's when we first actually began to talk. He bet me that he could bring more people down to the event than me (if you know how competitive we are, you know we're both in on a good competition), and loser buys dinner. I was in, but I was oblivious to the fact that either way we both go to dinner! I (Danielle) won the bet... not that we're keep track of it! Rob's Side: If you're not from Idaho there is a high chance you've never heard of Twin Falls, so when I arrived to speak at a Youth Night I didn't know what to expect. It was my first youth speaking event not at Capital Church and I was out of my comfort zone. So when we met it wasn't a " hi" it was more of a "bye" from a busy-focused Danielle so I was more thrown off. When she got on stage to worship I was done for. The stage lights were focused on her and so was I until my friend told me to focus up which I soon did. I guess you can say our relationship started off with me out of my comfort zone. Another visit later I was determined to get her attention and what better way than a good competition, where at the end of it I win... regardless. Except for fact she didn't know it was a date (Boise State football games for the win)!
After the first time we met, there might only be a handful of days that we haven't spoken... and through the years we have talked and communicated a lot!! It's how our relationship works! We're both so thankful for both of our churches and places that we get to visit for being a part of our relationship. They say "it takes a village to raise a kid" and I know also that being around healthy, thriving, God-centered relationships are a great way for us to see great ways to "raise a relationship". We believe we have such a great foundation to our relationship and are so excited to do get to do life together! There have been many laughs, concerts, church events, fun road trips, new music found, pickle ball games so now it's time to make more together and we just can't wait!!!
