During the summer of 2014, Danielle and Raygan traveled up to Fayetteville, Arkansas, to attend freshmen orientation. Amongst the hundreds of other future college freshmen, Danielle and Raygan happened to meet during lunch the first day. Before leaving the last orientation session, in front of hundreds of other students and parents, Raygan decided to yell across the Verizon Ballroom to Danielle to ask her for her phone number. Little did they know, the rest would be history.

Danielle and Raygan spent the next two months texting back and forth before moving up to Fayetteville to start classes. The week before classes started, Danielle was going through sorority recruitment. Wanting to see Danielle in person again, Raygan asked Danielle on their first date to Hammontrees Grilled Cheese, a Fayetteville staple.

Even though neither of them wanted to get into a new relationship so early on in their college years, it was hard for them to deny their connection. After months of dates, talking on the phone for hours, and late-night study sessions together, the two finally realized things were serious. Raygan asked Danielle to attend his fraternity campout, Pike's Peak, with him in Oklahoma. It was during that freezing, cold campout that Raygan officially asked Danielle to be his girlfriend.

Over the past six years, Danielle and Raygan's relationship has taken them from Fayetteville, Arkansas, to Dallas, Texas, to Elkin, North Carolina, and even Redondo Beach, California. With both of them loving to travel and try new things together, they decided to add visiting new wineries to their bucket list. Knowing this was a special part of their relationship, Raygan decided it only made sense for him to propose at the first winery they visited together, Los Pinos Ranch Winery in Pittsburg, Texas. Knowing how important family and friends have been to their relationship, Raygan made the proposal even more special by surprising Danielle with some of their family and closet friends there to celebrate.
