Rosemary Beach: Our First Weekend Trip
Our first weekend away as a new couple was to Rosemary Beach. A quaint Mediterranean village atmosphere, Rosemary has fantastic restaurants, shopping and a beautiful little bookstore named The Hidden Lantern.

The Big Chill is an outdoor food, entertainment and shopping rarity that offers bike rentals, too, should you want to cruise down 30A. The Chill projects both concerts and football games on the big outdoor screen. Whether we are in the mood for fantastic lobster rolls or barbecue brisket, this is our go to place.

Have you ever wanted to visit a film set? Seaside is the home to The Truman Show, starring Jim Carrey and Laura Linney. With Sundog Books, food trucks and beachfront dining at Bud and Alley, Seaside is a fun afternoon only ten minutes from your hotel.
Inlet Beach: Unexpected Beauty
July 4, 2023 We walk the beach, sugar sand between the toes. It is dusk and the fireworks will soon begin. Ahead there is a small island carved by the tide, an unexpected beauty. We claim it for ourselves and explore the clear water. Rand finds a perfect shell. He will later confess a silent quandary. Should he place the ring inside the shell? A gift from the ocean. Mythical. But it might drop into the tide and be lost forever. Better to be safe. When he bends down, I anticipate the intention. He declared it several times over the last year but now he means business. I am already tearing when he raises his eyes and says the words. "Yes!" Of course. My best friend. My love. I wrap my arms around him. The fireworks begin and we smile and stand arm in arm on our little island when a young woman approaches. She has witnessed our engagement and taken photos. We had not anticipated it might be captured, this perfect moment on our little island, this unexpected beauty.
