August 10, 2017. Danielle was on her way to South America with two friends from Los Angeles. The girls were sitting at LAX before the long flight when the one friend, Danielle's then roommate and good friend, scrolled past Michael's facebook page. She turned to Danielle and said I think I should set you up with this guy, I think you guys would get along. Danielle was excited at the prospect but asked her friend to wait until they returned from their big trip. Fast forward to the girl's first stop in Colombia, encouraged by her other friend on the trip, Danielle download a dating app called Hinge because "that's where all the good looking Jewish men hang out". Danielle, intrigued by the good looking Jewish men, downloaded Hinge, and low and behold, Michael was one of her first few "matches". August 10, 2019. Michael surprised Danielle with a perfect proposal in the Santa Monica Mountains (despite his dad and her sister almost collectively blowing the surprise). Without realizing and completely unintentionally, Michael proposed to Danielle EXACTLY 2 years to the day after her friend offered to set them up. In yiddish there is a word, "beshert" which means "soulmate". Danielle and Michael were each other's beshert, finding their way to each other in the most unexpected way.
