Things To Do

First time in Chicago? Lived here all your life? Somewhere in-between? Here are some of our favorite places, things to do, and things to eat. The weather in late September can be a toss-up. Take advantage of the lake if it's nice, otherwise, there is no shortage of awesome museums, restaurants, and bars to fill your days.

Athenian Room

807 West Webster Avenue, Chicago, IL 60614

Danielle grew up at this spot - a favorite through and through. No reservations, but generally no wait for lunch. Of course, we have to mention that the skirt steak and chicken are the way to go.

Chi Cafe

2160 South Archer Avenue, Chicago, IL 60616

Max's favorite Chinese food in the county! Open late if you find yourself looking for a midnight snack.

J.P. Graziano Grocery

901 West Randolph Street, Chicago, IL 60607

Swing by this corner store in the West Loop for sandwiches and more.

Manny's Cafeteria & Delicatessen

1141 South Jefferson Street, Chicago, IL 60607

A classic Jewish deli and staple in Chicago. Matzah ball soup and corned beef or pastrami sandwich are our recommendations, but can't go wrong!

Too Many Restaurants to Name...

Chicago is known for it's incredible food scene. Too many places to name, but some noteworthy mentions: Avec, Bavette's, Au Cheval, Publican, Smoque BBQ, Wiener's Circle, Mr. Beef, Dove's Luncheonette

Museum Of Contemporary Art Chicago

220 East Chicago Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611

Fun museum and conveniently located. Keep an eye on exhibits coming for late September, sometimes tickets sell out in advance.

Boat and Cruise Architecture Tours

900 South Wells Street, Chicago, IL 60607

Some might say it is touristy, but we don't care and neither should you. Chicago has some incredible architecture and a stunning skyline. No better way to see it and learn about Chicago's rich history than on the river and out on Lake Michigan. Lots of operators here, but we suggest Chicago's First Lady or Wendella.

Wrigley Field

1060 West Addison Street, Chicago, IL 60613

Iconic stadium, even for those who don't like baseball. Home games are scheduled for Friday and Sunday - Saturday too, but we got better places to be (so do you)!

For all the days along the way
