Our Story: From the Groom’s Perspective

It was a classic love story. Matt from Sacramento matches with Danielle from Roseville. We met at Fair Oaks Brew Pub and enjoyed a beer and a half together while vibing on our shared interest of music, traveling, and coaching. Two weeks later we shared a magical weekend together in San Francisco and I asked her to be my girlfriend on 11:11. As the days and months passed we got closer. We learned all of the important things like who knows how to cook (me), who enjoys making the plans (her), and who was going to say I love you first (her in a card / me out loud). In our short time together we have faced some truly difficult times. Covid, the loss of loved ones, and work stress. Throughout all of it though, our love grew and there was no doubt we wanted this to be forever. I tried my best to keep my intentions a secret by telling her we'd be getting married "sometime" in the next 5 years. Unbeknownst to her, I had planned on asking her to marry me on our trip to the PNW while visiting her friends. With their help, I was able to successfully ask for her hand in marriage. A year and a half later we get to celebrate our love for each other with you and we hope you enjoy yourselves!

Our Story: From the Bride’s Perspective

In October of 2019, I was going on dates, but trying to focus on skating and *trying* to not get into a serious relationship. The universe had a different plan, and gave me a man that would let me focus on myself, while also falling in love with him. I am going to be cheesy because we have one of those corny, extraordinary loves. We met on Hinge (online), and bonded over our love of music. We had our first date on October 27th, and after our date I told my friends if he was not my boyfriend soon I would be VERY surprised. He had made me a playlist before we met that had some of my favorite artists on it (he did not know they were my favorite, he just also loved them). I was planning on going to San Francisco by myself to see one of the bands, Penny & Sparrow, in 2 weeks, and after a few more dates, I asked him to come with me. We had an amazing time. On our way home, after knowing each other for 2 weeks, he asked me to be his girlfriend (in a corny way of course). At 11:11pm on 11/11/19 he said to make a wish. He said he needed help with his wish because he wanted me to be his girlfriend (disgustingly cute right??). I really didn’t think my person would be as romantic as I am. That was 2 years ago, and it has been a whirlwind. The pandemic/quarantine made it feel like we had been together for 10 years. We both lost people close to us during 2020, and I truly do not know what I would have done without Matt. I’m so grateful that he got to meet my dad before he passed away, and that my dad loved him. 3 months into our relationship, my dad asked why we hadn’t gotten married yet. I thought the same thing! In all actuality though I thought it would be at least 1-2 years before we got engaged.

Matt completely caught me off guard and proposed to me September 6, 2020. My best friends Amber and Maddie, helped plan it, and it was magical. We were on a hike and he proposed to me in front of a waterfall. I was in shock for weeks, but was so excited to know that Matt was as serious as I thought he was about our future together. I could write about all the little details for pages, but all you really need to know is that I love Matt so much and we cannot wait to celebrate our love with all of you!!
