Things To Do

It's NYC! The world is your oyster. Below you'll find a small list of things for first timers - as well as some local favorite spots. Depending on how long you'll be here - some of these might not be doable. But either way, while winter can be tricky, NYC has loads to offer!

A Broadway Show!

This suggestion is very near and dear to our hearts, as our mutual love for musical theater is one of the first things we ever bonded over. Visit tkts.com for discounted/same day tickets to some of the greatest shows on Broadway!

Rockefeller Center

45 Rockefeller Plaza, New York, NY 10111
, (212) 588-8601

This one is especially fun in the winter because the Rockefeller Christmas Tree will be up! Some may consider it a bit cliche, but it's beautiful AND you can go ice skating right below it. Iconic.

The High Line

New York, NY 10011
, (212) 500-6035

The High Line is a public park built on a historic freight rail line elevated above the streets on Manhattan’s West Side. Saved from demolition by neighborhood residents and the City of New York, the High Line opened in 2009 as a hybrid public space where visitors experience nature, art, and design.

American Museum of Natural History

200 Central Park West, New York, NY 10024
, (212) 769-5100

The Museum is renowned for its exhibitions and scientific collections, which serve as a field guide to the entire planet and present a panorama of the world's cultures.

Serendipity 3

225 East 60th Street, New York, NY 10022
, (212) 838-3531

Reserve your spot at this Iconic NYC staple for their famous hot chocolate! The gift shop is also the perfect place to grab a souvenir for you and or your loved ones.

Central Park

New York, NY
, (212) 310-6600

A brisk walk through NYC's most famous park is the perfect place to unwind. Grab a hotdog. Go for an ice skate at Wollman Rink or visit the famous Bethesda Fountain (as seen in the Hollywood Blockbuster John Wick starring the incomparable Keanu Reeves).

On Location Tours

435 East 85th Street, New York, NY 10028
, (212) 683-2027

For the movie/TV buff - take a guided bus tour of some of NYC's most famous TV and movie neighborhoods - such as The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Sex and the City, and Sopranos! To name a few. Bundle up if you want to sit on the roof of the bus!

New York Transit Museum

99 Schermerhorn Street, Downtown Brooklyn, NY 11201
, (718) 694-1600

Housed underground in an authentic 1936 subway station in Downtown Brooklyn, the Transit Museum’s working platform level spans a full city block, and is home to a rotating selection of twenty vintage subway and elevated cars dating back to 1907. Visitors can board the vintage cars, sit at the wheel of a city bus, step through a time tunnel of turnstiles, and explore changing exhibits that highlight the cultural, social and technological history – and future – of mass transit.

Paulie Gee's

60 Greenpoint Avenue, Greenpoint, NY 11222
, (347) 987-3747

Hands down the best pizza in Brooklyn! 'nuff said.

McSorley’s Old Ale House

15 East 7th Street, New York, NY 10003

For our history and beer buffs - McSorley's Old Ale House is the oldest Irish Saloon in NYC. Sawdust on the floors, good beer.

Bemelmans Bar

35 East 76th Street, New York, NY 10021
, (212) 744-1600

We couldn't leave this place off the list. Not only does it serve NYC's best martini, it is also the place we got engaged. It holds the most special place in our hearts.

For all the days along the way
