Our proposal story starts on a trip to Maui with my company to celebrate my 10 year work anniversary in May of 2021. We decided to start the trip a few days early with just our good friends Teasha and Ryan before meeting up with the larger group for a full week. On our first full day in Maui, Joshua planned an ATV excursion that would take us to explore a pineapple plantation. Joshua had been secretly planning the engagement for months and had even coordinated with the ATV company to help him execute the perfect proposal. It was very important to Joshua that it stay a secret and that I did not suspect a thing. The excursion took us on up the mountain, where we experienced very dusty and muddy terrain. Finally, at the top of the mountain the group stopped for a photo opportunity to take in the beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean. While taking a few photos, Joshua dropped to one knee, pulled the ring out of his pocket and popped the question. I was in complete shock and overwhelmed with happiness. So with a muddy face and wearing a rain poncho I said "YES"! We then spent the next week in Maui celebrating our engagement with plenty of free champagne and desserts.
We met like many couples these days on a dating app back in March 2017. What started as some online flirting quickly turned into late night text conversations and finally a weekday happy hour for our first date. The date began as just drinks but then quickly turned to dinner, and three hours later led to us closing down the restaurant. Not wanting the night or conversation to end we decided to go across the street to a lounge and kept the date going for a few more hours. To be honest, we both can't really recall our second, third or even forth date but what's important is we never could forget each other. After a few years of dating on and off, we decided to move in with each other and started the next chapter of our relationship in Lake Stevens, Washington with our two cats Enzo and Mak. We survived our first year living with each other during a global pandemic and came out stronger and closer then ever. We can't wait to begin this next chapter as husband and wife.
