Jorge and I met doing a production of West Side Story, he played Bernardo and I played Anita. I remember the day we met was at the callbacks and he came flying into the theatre LATE and wearing sweatpants (definitely not ready for a callback), but I remember that moment so clearly in my mind. I honestly don't know what it was, but it felt like time stood still. When we read our scene together there was no denying that there was something there between us. It was effortless - the chemistry, the friendship, the trust came so naturally. I am a big believer that everything happens for a reason. I was hesitant all week leading up the callback, worried whether I should go or not since I just had Rorie. I remember my mom pushing me to go, saying that if I didn't go, I'd regret it. SHE WAS RIGHT! I would have regretted it because that was the day I met my very best friend, my partner, and the love of my life. As time evolved, we went from friends to so much more. I remember the day I knew that he was the man I was going to marry was the day he met Rorie. She was always so shy around men, but as we were walking she reached out to hold his hand. He quickly became Rorie's best friend and her confidant. I thank God everyday for bringing him into our lives and making our family complete. Our life is perfect in its imperfections, perfect in ALL its chaos. The life we have built is just the beginning and I can't wait to see what the future holds. Loves always, Danielle
On the day of her birthday I surprised her with a weekend of: one Skydiving jump from 15,000 feet, a romantic roof top dinner date, and a night out in a fancy expensive hotel room with the view of non other than San Francisco. Our weekend started with skydiving. On our way there Danielle did not trust me one bit because she knew I was up to something. She would ask me all the questions to get me to admit what I was planning. Quickly in her mind she felt like, actually she KNEW I was planning to propose. Great start right? "Are you doing what I think you’re going to do? Are you suuuuuurrrreee?" she said. I would quickly deny knowing full well that my idea of landing first only to wait for her to come down and see my on one knee is no longer the way. Now as we are falling from the plane, I am strapped onto the smallest instructor out there. We are going way to fast to land! I literally skip my ass on the ground three times. I thought I completely lost both my butt cheeks. As I hide the pain slowly walking towards Danielle who is gently landing she lets out, "Are you doing it now?" In my mind I just couldn't believe that she wouldn't allow me to propose. After that we get to my car and drive to the city. Once we get to the city we get dressed up all nice for our dinner date. I quickly realized that we were both dressed the same way we dressed for our show West Side Story where we first met. This to me was a definite sign that I was proposing that night. We get to the romantic dinner date at the roof top of this restaurant. Little did I know they were holding a singles ready to mingle event. The roof top is straight up a nightclub! With a a few drinks and no food we quickly became drunk. We ended going back to the hotel. Disappointed in the elevator she had completely convinced herself that I would not propose. But what better way of doing it now since she wasn't expecting it. On one knee I asked her if she would marry me. "Are you sure?" she said. "Yes!" - Jorge
