D & E's Guide to DC

The Wedding Website of Danielle Stewart and Erica Southerton
We are so excited to welcome you to the city we love! We have put together a guide to our favorite places in the city we call home!! (Don't worry there won't be snow!!)

Our Favorite Bites

DC had so many great places to eat! We have put together a map of all of our favorite bites! You can use this google map to find a place to stop for a bite wherever you are in the city!

National Portrait Gallery

8th St NW, Washington, DC 20001

Right across the street from the Hotel Monaco the Portrait Gallery is one of our favorite museums in the city! It's most famous exhibit has the official portraits of every U.S President. Our favorite part is the Lunder Conservation Center where you can watch Smithsonian staff restore artwork. We also like to grab coffee and sit under the huge glass ceiling in the museums atrium!

United States Capitol Tour

1st St SE, Washington, DC 20515

A visit to DC isn't complete without a tour of Congress! August is the perfect time to tour, because you won't bump into any politicians. You can reserve a tour via the link, or reach out to Danielle or Erica, to get an office led tour.

Washington Monument Tour

2 15th St NW, Washington, DC 20024

These tours are competitive, so mark your calendars! Danielle and Erica love the birds eye view of all the monuments and downtown that can only be seen from the Washington Monument. Tickets will be released on July 9, 2026 at 10:00 am EDT. With a limited amount of additional tickets made available on August 7, 2026 at 03:00 pm EDT.

Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum

650 Jefferson Drive Southwest, Washington, DC 20004

The Smithsonian Air & Space Museum is dedicated to flight! The lobby of the museum features full sized aircrafts hanging from the ceiling. This museum requires free timed tickets to get into the museum. You can book tickets on their website!

United States Botanical Gardens

100 Maryland Avenue Southwest, Washington, DC 20001

Located on the U.S Capitol Building grounds, the Botanical Gardens has a two-story greenhouse and outdoor gardens. Danielle proposed to Erica right outside! There are no tickets required and entry is free.
