Please RSVP by April 1, 2025 so we can ensure we have a seat and a meal for you.
UPDATE: the block is now full, but you may still be able to book a room outside the block subject to availability. The Lincoln Marathon is May 4, so be aware that hotels in the area are filling up. To be included in the room block at the Cornhusker Mariott hotel, you need to reserve your room by April 4, 2025. See Travel section for more information.
Our wedding ceremony will be included in a full nuptial Mass. Catholic wedding ceremonies are typically between an hour to an hour and thirty minutes in length. We understand not everyone attending the wedding is Catholic, so follow along best you can, and we are so happy to have you celebrating with us! As Catholics we believe in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. If you are not Catholic or are not spiritually prepared to receive Communion, you are welcome to come forward for a blessing instead. Please indicate to the priest you will not be receiving Communion by crossing your arms over your shoulders. Out of reverence for our Lord, please silence electronic devices and refrain from bringing food or drinks into the Church.
The reception venue (also the main hotel!!) is only about 0.5 miles from the Church! We hope this will make it convenient for you and your stay.
On-site parking: $13.50/day self-park or $24/day valet Off-site parking: meters and parking garages surrounding the hotel in downtown Lincoln
Give yourself ample time for parking at the Church. The options are: -Metered parking on both sides of the streets near the Church, on UNL's campus, or downtown -The Larson Building Garage (Park & Go) - 1317 Q Street - has 1st hour free -University Square Garage (Park & Go) - 101 N. 14th Street - has 1st hour free -It is also possible to walk from the Cornhusker Hotel if you would like to leave your car parked at the hotel Avoid parking in any lots adjacent to the Church (University lots, Lutheran Church, Casey's) as there is a strong likelihood they will ticket or tow.
Great question! You will have about 1.5 - 2 hours in between the Mass and the start of the cocktail hour. We suggest checking out a coffee shop, bar, or shops in the downtown/Haymarket area, or maybe head back to the hotel to recharge so you're ready to hit the dance floor! :)
We suggest Semi-Formal or "Sunday Best" attire. Our wedding ceremony will be held in a Catholic church. Out of respect for the sacrament of marriage and the presence of our Lord, please be mindful of the length of skirts/dresses and of necklines, and refrain from wearing shorts or jeans. Consider suits or collared shirts & ties for gentlemen, and floor length, midi, or cocktail dresses or skirts for ladies.
Yes! Please let us know if we need to add any to the RSVP.
The majority of food will be gluten-free. Please reach out with any other questions/concerns.
Yes! There will be a selection of wine, beer, and liquor. If you'd like a drink, make sure you bring your ID (it's their job). And if you're feeling generous, leave a tip for the bartenders.
