Danielle and DJ first met in 2021 while playing with friends in VR Chat. Connecting on video games, anime, and shared values. After some time, DJ made the decision to visit Danielle in Gainesville and to visit Universal and Islands of Adventure (which she often described to DJ). However, it wasn't until he arrived that he was told that the prerequisite for going to the Orlando Theme Parks was watching the Harry Potter films (something DJ refused to watch up until this point). After DJ and Danielle both enjoyed the first few Harry Potter films, they went to the theme park to experience the magic and wonder of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The few days passed quickly, and DJ was traveling back home before either of them could say Butterbeer. Danielle and DJ continued to talk daily about their family foundations (and love of crabcakes), values, and hopes for the future. Danielle, leaving things up to fate (and what our friends might say "trusting the process"), propositioned to DJ that if he were able to find a way to Florida to live, maybe they could try dating. By chance, DJ finally secured the fully remote IT job he was aiming for in recent years. With a fully remote job, he now had the flexibility to move to Florida to be with Danielle. Of course, Gus and Jax were thrilled that they had their very own human at home all the time. After moving into together, the rest was history! From there, both Danielle and DJ went on a healing journey as they worked together to strengthen their relationship with each other. DJ showed Danielle the importance of hobbies through Animal Crossing and Magic the Gathering; Danielle showed DJ the fun that can be had with shared workouts with their trainer, Jonathan. Through ups and downs, Danielle and DJ worked together as a team to overcome any obstacle and grow stronger as a result. In December 2022, DJ proposed to Danielle at Biltmore, a place that Danielle and her mother, Sharon, visited often and shared positive memories. Danielle of course said yes, then quickly asked DJ if the ring came with a nice pair of cozy slippers to replace her heels in the negative degree weather. To no avail, luckily their love kept them warm on their drive back to DJ’s grandparents. To this day, they still joke about how hilariously cold the night was and how nervous DJ was when the weather prompted last-minute backup plans. Now in 2026, Danielle and DJ are excited to finally tie the knot in Gainesville, Florida. At the Sweetwater Branch Inn, the venue highlights the garden vibes, reminiscent of the many botanical gardens they visited as a couple, while providing an airy, romantic feel - no matter the Florida weather. They are excited to have an extremely intimate wedding of their closest family members and friends to celebrate their day.
