Beautiful sunsets, free parking, boaters, a bike path and lots of restaurants within walking distance. Cedar Point is visible from here as well. You may even hear live music. There's lots to see and do in downtown Sandusky.
Catch a ferry from Sandusky's downtown Jet Express port and sail out to either Kelly's Island or Put-in-Bay where you can rent a golf cart or bike around to various beaches, trails, restaurants and events. Hiking, kayaking, fishing, scuba diving, wine tastings, mini golf, an arcade and more is all here.
A 10 minute walk from Jackson Street Pier. This is a quiet park that offers a nice walk along a bike path all the way down to the marina, tennis courts and skate park. You'll often see people fishing or boarding their boats at the local docks.

About a 30 minute drive east of Sandusky is the town of Vermilion. Right along the edge of Lake Erie with lots of restaurants, small shops to browse and right along the beach.
