Stroll through the forest to a picturesque stone bridge overlooking a waterfall. You can meander on many trails, or simply park and a walk a quick 100 yards to the falls.

Bellingham and Mt. Baker go hand-in-hand. You can not only see the peak from the city, but you can easily drive to it. Take the Mt. Baker Scenic Highway (State Route 542). From Bellingham, it’s just under an hour and a half. Once there, hop on the many popular hiking trails like those to Artist Point, Picture Lake, and Yellow Aster Butte. The in-your-face views of Mt. Baker will blow your mind!
As one of the top scenic drives in Washington, Chuckanut Drive offers 19 miles of waterfront bliss. The road winds high above the shore and offer multiple viewing areas to pull over. From here, you can admire Samish Bay and the San Juan Islands.

Why stare at the San Juan Islands when you can visit them? Ferries from Anacortes (about 50 minutes south of Bellingham) will take you to the islands of Lopez, Orcas, and San Juan, where there is a ton to do!

A favorite pass-time of Bellingham residents and visitors is mountain biking. The rush of adrenaline and wind keeps riders fueled. Thankfully, there are extensive trail systems here. Don’t have a bike? You can rent from several places around town.
