Aruba is a desert island which means it is hot and (hopefully) dry most of the year. Temps in April are usually in the mid-80s during the day and drop to mid-70s at night. Because of the trade winds Aruba is a very windy island. The sun is very powerful so you'll want to make sure to have lots of sun protection. Luckily, Aruba is known for its aloe and this can be purchased almost anywhere.
We have designed the weekend so that you do not need to rent a car unless you would like to go sightseeing around the island. You can safely get a taxi from the airport to the hotel/Airbnb area for $25-30. For any events that are not walkable we will be providing round trip transportation from the Hilton. The Hilton is located directly across from an area with bars, restaurants, and shops, and there are also dining options all along the beach. Most Airbnbs can set you up with grocery delivery. If you do want to sightsee on a non-guided tour you will need a car. We would recommend against renting with the cheapest company unless you are ok driving a car that may fall apart. Sticking with a well known company, while more expensive, will guarantee you a good car.
There is not a strict dress code for the wedding however we would recommend beach cocktail attire (I looked it up, it is a real thing). Comfort is key, you'll want to wear something light and airy. You will not have to walk in sand so any type of shoes are ok, as long as you can dance in them. There is a covered area at the wedding venue however the ceremony will not be covered, so feel free to bring a hat if you need sun protection. Be fun, be festive, be bright - bring your colors!
You love your children and we love your children, but our wedding will not have events specifically tailored to kids. That being said, we'd rather have you and your family attend vs. not at all so just give us a call and let us know!
