The First Date

January, 2017

Bryan and I went to Piesano’s Pizza for our first date. We got an alfredo chicken pizza to share. The date went extremely well until a gentleman sitting behind me began talking to us. This was great as it broke some of the awkwardness of the date, but then the gentleman continued talking the whole rest of our date! Needless to say, we needed a second date to continue to get to know each other :)

From “Dating” to “In a Relationship”

March 1, 2017

After a few more dates, Bryan took me to Sickies, where we enjoyed amazing burgers. The dates previously had gone exceptionally well and I didn’t expect this one to go any different. While waiting for our order to arrive, Bryan began talking about lettermans jackets. I thought this was a weird topic, but he ended the conversation with “I don’t know how they do it these days, but when I was in high school we asked the girl we liked to wear our letterman jacket to signify that we are in a relationship. So would you like to wear my letterman jacket?” Of course I don’t actually wear his letterman jacket from high school, but I said yes :)

The Proposal

September 14, 2019

It was a whirlwind of 2.5 years. They definitely flew by. We had our challenges. Bryan lived in Moorcroft, WY while I was still in Rapid. We drove back and forth on the weekends to spend time with each other and enjoyed every minute of it. Bryan was finally able to move in with me in June 2019. While in Moorcroft helping him pack his stuff, he asked if I wanted to look at rings in Gillette. To his surprise, I said yes. He was obviously joking when he asked me to look, but took me anyway when I said yes. I picked out a couple that I liked. The summer then continued as normal with us adjusting to living together. The new school year began and he was starting a new job. On September 14, we decided we wanted to go to Cosmos since neither of us had been. It was a fun experience. Afterward, we were walking out to the truck and Bryan said he was hungry. I asked him where he wanted to eat and he suggested a few different places. We settled on Piesanos and I was starving. We got to the parking lot and both got out of the truck. I began walking in while he was limping around the truck to where I was. I was already half way to the door when he called my name and said he had a bad leg cramp and needed my help. At that point he was holding on to the truck to hold himself up. I annoyingly walked back to him thinking to myself “I dont know what you want me to do about your leg cramp”. I was so hungry and just wanted food. He cramps all the time so this was no surprise that he was cramping now. I walked up directly in front of him and he immediately transitioned to one knee. He opened the ring box and gave a speech. Right there in the parking lot of where we had our first date! I didnt hear a word he said as I was in complete disbelief. Needless to say, I said yes and we got free pizza, the same chicken alfredo pizza we got on our first date!
