We met in February at Fedex, but in reality we probably met before that. We attended the same high school and knew a lot of the same people at different points in our life, but never officially met each other. That changed one cold February day, we exchanged numbers, and set a day for a date at Rec Room. What seemed like an average date was definitely one of the most magical nights of our life. We talked about video games for hours, particularly Mass Effect and Dragon Age. I showed him my Kingdom Hearts tattoo and we geeked out about our favorite romances and plot points. We even realized we had a similar taste in music after hearing a few great songs playing over the speakers. That was the first time either of us heard, "Holding on For Life," by Broken Bells and it quickly became our favorite. After Rec Room, we watched a movie and 20 minutes in I fell asleep and he didn't even wake me. I was mortified, when he woke me up after finishing it alone and said, "You seemed tired, so I didn't want to wake you. The movie was really good though." I apologized profusely, but he just laughed and asked, " So, when can I see you again?" What a relief that was, as I was sure I'd lost my chance, but he enjoyed my company as much as I enjoyed his. Shortly after, we had our second date and our third and fourth and before we knew it we were in a relationship. We spent all our free time together and the more we learned about each other, the more we loved each other. Flash forward two years later, we couldn't imagine our lives without each other and he proposed. I elatedly and tearfully said yes. So, that's our story of how two dorks fell in love and the rest, as they say, is history.
