Maid of Honor
Sister to the Bride, Meredith has known Danielle her whole life, but not vice versa. Before Danielle was born, Meredith had a lonely one year of life. The arrival of Danielle brought companionship, a playmate, annoyance, but most of all, fun. Without Danielle, Meredith would have had no one to fight over the remote with, or compete in school with, or dream about traveling the world with. She also would not have had anyone to hand her old clothes down to, or, to steal them back from when she realized they still looked cool after Danielle would wear them. Meredith is the Maid of Honor, but the honor is truly Danielle's.
Best Man
Best man and friend of the groom since secondary school (that's high school for American readers). Like Andy, John is a tinkerer, and the two have spent many an hour chatting over beers about the latest side project, whether it's John's home made telescope mount, or Andy's flight simulation projects. The two are also big fans of the outdoors, and after climbing Ben Nevis last summer, are keen to bag some more Munros as soon as possible! John's a big scuba diving enthusiast so be sure to ask him about his wreck diving adventures when you meet him.
Bridesmaid
Best Friend of the Bride for 22 years, April and Danielle met at 12 years old in Spanish class. Having alphabetical seating by surname meant that Witkes and Rosenberg were seated near each other. After a few hangouts, April invited Danielle to a Halloween party at her house where her parents took one look at Danielle, and said "make sure the liquor cabinet is locked". Despite this, Danielle and April stayed friends, becoming roommates in college and after in NYC. Danielle likes to think April's parents have grown to love her since that Halloween all those years ago, and now know she was not trying to break into the liquor cabinet at 13 years old. 22 years, and multiple cruises later, Danielle couldn't be happier to have April by her side on her wedding day. Pero, no hablamos Español.
Groomsman
Andy and Jon met in first year of University, which, to Andy's complete shock and disbelief, was 19 years ago. Jon and Andy passed many hours in the college squash court and bouldering wall. They also started making a video game simply called "The Animal Game", a project which is absolutely not abandoned and has simply been on hold for the past 15 years. The pair spent some time travelling after University. Andy will never forget the time the two of them hitch-hiked through Australia's Northern Territory to Kakadu national park, a journey which should have taken 2 hours took nearly 4 days. It's the journey that matters! Jon now lives in Sweden researching new materials for solar cells.
Bridesmaid
Best Friend of the Bride for 6 years, Kaitlyn and Danielle's first conversation was a phone call in which Danielle asked a perfect stranger to give her her credit card details over the phone. In case you're wondering, Kaitlyn did give Danielle the information, proving her trustworthiness. Perhaps because that seed of trust that was already sowed, Kaitlyn and Danielle became fast friends when they met in person in 2013, bonding over Doctor Who. Kaitlyn then invited herself on Danielle's month-long trip to England, to which Danielle agreed, solidifying Best Friend status. Danielle is so happy to invite Kaitlyn to stand by her side as she gets married. However, Danielle is fairly certain Kaitlyn would have invited herself anyway if Danielle didn't ask first.
Groomsman
Friend of the groom for 7 years. Connor and Andy met in Facebook's Covent Garden office 7 years ago. It goes without saying that both are big technology enthusiasts and have spent many hours in technical conversation, sometimes even getting paid for it! Connor's an automophile, but while Andy doesn't necessarily share his love of cars, he does enjoy a good race. The two have spent many hours on the track, occasionally in real life go-kart circuits, but an order of magnitude more time racing around the virtual circuits of Mario Kart. Connor and his partner Dani are expecting their first child just a few weeks before the wedding, so it means the world to the bride and groom that they'll be there for their wedding during such an intense time.
Witness
Friend of the groom for 7 years. Andy first got to know Ali while handing over a Facebook-partner relationship in Tel Aviv, where Andy discovered that a career in developer relations involved far more drinking than he had ever imagined. Like Andy, Ali is a keen runner and is just as competitive. How many people would take time out from a music festival to run a half marathon, just to keep ahead in a friendly, "not at all competitive", year-long running challenge? Apparently at least two. Competition aside, the two have occasionally worked as a team. Like when they beat Brian from the Backstreet Boys at table tennis, or the time they sailed out of Hydra bay with only a broken mooring line and a punctured ear drum. Andy and Danielle are thrilled to have Ali as witness to their wedding.
Witness
The groom's little sister. Andy and Danielle are delighted that Jen, and her husband Justin, are flying over from Australia for the wedding. Jen and Andy have always got on well, and recently even travelled to Costa Rica together for a backpacking winter break. Actually, it was only a winter break for Andy - Jen has adopted the bizarre Australian habit of having summer during the winter. Jen loves to travel probably even more than Andy does, so it's appropriate that she's ended up living on the far side of the world. Andy and Danielle are over the moon that Jen will be a witness on their wedding day.
