The first date was at Blue Coast Asian Cuisine near Danni's home. Having been through plenty of bad first dates, Danni had a plan to test Anthony since previous guys had simply regurgitated claims of liking whatever she liked. She had her friend hiding in another booth for backup while she tested to see if Anthony was telling the truth about liking sushi or if he was just all talk. The simple dinner ended up lasting for hours, plate after plate of sashimi, tempura, rolls, and a bottle of sake. If it was a test, Anthony scored an A+!

Several months into dating, Danni began worrying about when the big L-word would drop. The dates were amazing, and she had those feelings bubbling up just waiting to be told the magic phrase first. Anthony felt it too, but a devious streak took hold. Waiting for Danni's upcoming cruise with her brother, he said "I love you" the first time right as he sent her off for the voyage. Her heart lit up like fireworks, but then had to suffer for a week on the ship dealing with it, all according to plan.

Every anniversary, Danni and Anthony would go to a different Disney resort for a couple days as a tradition. This time, Anthony planned it all out and changed things up by taking Danni to St. Augustine. After an exhausting day of back-to-back activities, he raced up the 219 steps to prepare as she slogged to complete the climb. Panting, sweating, and mildly irritated, Danni got to finally enjoy the view before hearing "Oops, need to tie my shoe", followed by "Wait a minute, my shoelaces are fine. What other possible reason could I be down here, on one knee, at a time like this, at a place like this?" Anthony then pulled out the ring and asked the big question while a passerby filmed the moment. Still wiped out from the climb and annoyed at being beaten to the top, Danni was even more breathless when her jaw dropped at the audacity of asking her there. She still said yes, of course, as making her scale that height and NOT proposing would have led to Anthony being thrown over the railing.
