Testament to Dubai's low 'degree-of-separation' factor, we were introduced by a mutual friend over dinner in 2016, 6 months after Anil moved to Dubai. Eyes met across a table, and it was game over. We both differ in our accounts of the night - particularly over who was most interested, but both count that day as the catalyst for our relationship. A short month of dating later, we spent a year doing long-distance - Danielle from college in the US, and Anil from Dubai. We knew that once we conquered long-distance, we could conquer anything! 6 years together have seen us through milestones like multiple jobs, our first home together, and of course, getting engaged.
