Glacier National Park is by far one of the most popular parks in all of the United States, famous for its stunning mountains, alpine meadows, and frozen glaciers. It has hundreds of miles of hiking trails leading up to the highest peaks, and others to cascading waterfalls.
**NOTE: Depending on the winter and snow removal, the road might not be fully open in June. The Going-to-the-Sun Road is a 50-mile mountain road that runs between the park’s east and west entrances. The two-lane road is windy and narrow, taking you through terrains ranging from tundra to forests and steep mountains of sheer rock.
The heart of the downtown is the Whitefish Depot. This historic train station stands tall and acts as the main landmark for the town. Whitefish Station even has its own museum, where visitors can wander through the exhibits and get a closer look at the town’s history.
*Not for those afraid of heights! Choose from an enclosed gondola or an open chairlift, then sit back and enjoy the mountain scenery as well as views of Whitefish Lake, the Flathead Valley and Glacier National Park on the ride to the summit. Once at the summit, enjoy 360-degree views before returning down the mountain, or spend some time at the Summit House shopping at Summit Gifts or enjoying the view with a beverage from the Summit House Bar. Grab & Go food available. Last ride up or down the Scenic Lift is at 5:30pm. Adults $21 Juniors (7-14) $14 Seniors (65+) $14 Kids (6 and under) FREE
