“Wanna grab some beers and eat some hot dogs?” The question that began our story and created over three years full of blood orange beers, hot dogs, baseball games, espresso martinis, road trips, geo caches, laughter and so much more. Our story started in a dating app, but, within a year, it quickly evolved and had me happily squatting in Alex’s studio apartment as we never wanted to be separated for long periods of time again. Within two years, Alex grumpily fixed the bed I broke as I jumped into it the first night in our brand new apartment together. Within three years, I was shocked, no feelings in my pinkies, as I asked Alex “Are you being so serious?” overwhelmed by the love between us as he proposed. Our story is one that celebrates the difference between us because we know the strengths of the other can only make yourself stronger. We use our strengths to divide and conquer chores like cooking and laundry and tasks like creating a wedding website and writing the cheesy story of our lives. Our story is two people who sympathize and support without judgement because we know that the other can grow and learn by themselves, but we understand life is so much better with someone fighting by your side. The story of Alex and myself is one of true love and support for the years to come.
