We have planned for the cocktail hour to be indoor-outdoor, the ceremony to be outside, and the reception to be tented —all taking place at the deCordova Museum & Sculpture Garden, an accessible venue.
The dress code for our ceremony and reception is Black-Tie Optional. Tuxedos or suits, long or cocktail dresses, formal jumpsuits, and sets are all welcome.
There is a parking lot at the museum.
The accessible venue has walking surfaces that include grass, gravel, and dance floor.
Approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic.
No, not necessary. There will be motorcoach bus transportation to/from the wedding venue and to the Sunday brunch as well. Friday evening events are walking distance from the hotel. Boston is a walkable city with a decent subway system (the oldest subway system in America – 1897).
Carpool, Taxi, or Uber.
An easy 10-minute walk.
Festive.
Black tie optional. Dinner and dancing at the wedding reception will be in a tented venue on even/solid flooring. The outdoor ceremony will be on loose gravel. The deCordova Sculpture Park grounds (which are lovely to stroll) are uneven grass.
Approximately 20-25 minutes.
Comfortable casual. Weather permitting, the brunch will be both indoors and outdoors.
Yes.
You have two options. If you are returning to the city before heading home, you can temporarily store your bags at the hotel bell desk. If you are going to the airport directly from brunch, you should bring your luggage with you on the motorcoach bus.
Because everyone will be leaving at different times, we suggest taking (or sharing) an Uber (25-35 minutes).
You can speak to the hotel concierge. Or, you can speak to a passionate Bostonian for expert guidance – Danielle’s father (he never tires of speaking about Boston’s history and its significant role in America’s independence, and its awesome sports teams) 😊. Also, check out the “Things To Do” tab on this website. *"Hub of the Universe" is a famous, historically tongue-in-cheek nickname given to Boston, Massachusetts. It stems from an 1858 essay by author Oliver Wendell Holmes.
