It all began as many love stories do, on an ultimate frisbee field. Daniel was watching his youngest sister (Paulina Pollock) play for the Women’s University of Texas ultimate frisbee team in a tournament outside of Houston, Texas and Daniella was watching her long-time friend (Vicky Wu) play for that same team. As two of the few non-parents in attendance, they naturally began to chat (Daniel obviously began to flirt) and they chatted for hours as they waited for the games to finish. Paulina and Vicky picked up on what looked like a spark and started to tease Daniella about a wedding in the near future. Little did they know “near future” meant roughly 10 years. Daniella just laughed and told them it was nothing, he was just being nice. Turns out he was but he also had an interest in being more than just "friends." After weeks of texting Daniella, Daniel finally wore her down and got her to agree to grab dinner at Paulie’s. Their first date went really well but with Daniel headed off to Notre Dame to pursue his MBA and Daniella uber-focused on her challenging engineering curriculum at the University of Houston, a second date wasn’t in their near future. That spark throughout the next few years however remained. They kept in touch here and there and Daniella remembered how nice it was to finally go on a date with a guy who didn’t mind carrying the conversation, someone who had things to say and knew how to keep it light and fun. Turns out (as she has since learned) he’s just a talker. As the years went on they continued to keep in touch and see each other here and there but it wasn’t until 2019 when they both seemed settled into their lives (and had met enough of the wrong people) that they thought it might not be a bad idea to give their friendship a chance to become a more serious relationship. So after dating long distance for 8 months, Daniella moved to Atlanta in 2020 to join Daniel and on December 22, 2022, Daniel got down on one knee and asked Daniella to marry him. They now have an adorable dog named Millie and live in scenic Sandy Springs, GA where Daniella drags both Daniel and Millie (their tiny 7-pound dog) to go on hikes.
