A Journey Meant to Be <3

In the summer of 2008, Taylor and Daniel met each other at a place called Camp Fiver. We were just teenagers, two young souls trying to figure out the world. I remember seeing her for the first time—her smile, her quiet strength, the way she naturally cared for others, even as a kid. She had a heart so big, it was impossible not to notice. We spent summers getting to know each other, but we were on different paths. Taylor had her eyes set on becoming a therapist, and I was about to start my first year of college. Though there was something special between us, life moved us in different directions, and we left Camp Fiver with just the memory of what might have been. Years passed, and while we didn’t keep in touch, I never forgot that summer. Taylor followed her dreams, completing her education and becoming a therapist, helping countless children as a school social worker. I threw myself into my work, eventually finding my place in healthcare, using data to make a difference. Our paths seemed to be worlds apart, but fate, as it often does, had a different plan. Ten years later, by some incredible twist, we both ended up at an alumni event at the Fiver office. The moment I saw her, everything came rushing back. It was like no time had passed at all. She was still the same Taylor—kind, compassionate, with a smile that could light up any room—but now she was a woman who had become everything she dreamed of. And as we talked, I felt it, deep in my bones—the connection we once had as teenagers was still there, only now, it was stronger, more meaningful. We reconnected in a way that felt inevitable, like life had always meant for us to find our way back to each other. As we shared our lives, we discovered even more common ground. Taylor had Flint, her loyal companion, and I had Kobe, my constant sidekick. Becoming dog parents together was like adding a new layer to our bond, and in building this small family with her, I realized I didn’t want to live another day without her by my side. Taylor has always been my calm in the chaos, my home when the world feels overwhelming. I call her “my cup of tea” because with her, everything feels right—like warmth on a cold day, comfort when you need it most. Our love is more than just romance; it’s rooted in years of growth, of shared values, and in our deep commitment to helping others. Together, we’ve created a partnership built on compassion, health, and a love that was always meant to be. So, I decided to propose. Not because I needed to make sure she would stay, but because I knew, deep down, that Taylor is my forever. She’s the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with, the person I want to build a future and a family with. Our story, from two teenagers at Camp Fiver to reconnecting as adults, feels like destiny had a hand in every step we took. And now, as we step into this new chapter together, I know that we are exactly where we were always meant to be. Our love story is a testament to the idea that life has a way of bringing you back to the right person at the right time. And in Taylor, I found not only my partner in life but also my perfect match in purpose.
