We're getting married!

It all started back in late 2017 at Kent State University. They were both math tutors there, and the very first time they actually talked was at work. They ended up sitting next to each other, and Sierra had to answer a question that Dan's tutee asked him because he didn't know the answer (being a new tutor that semester and all). We can all imagine the dirty look he gave Sierra when she answered the question for him. Sierra just thought to herself, "Wow, I am never talking to this guy again". Within the next few weeks, they realized they were in the same math class together. Dan could hear Sierra's loud personality from across the room. Meanwhile, Sierra would look over and see Dan sleeping during the lecture. She just thought to herself, "Look at this guy thinking he is so smart that he can just sleep through the lecture and still pass, ugh." Spoiler alert: he passed the class with a higher grade. Anyway, at the end of the fall 2017 semester, their mutual friend got a big group together to work on the take home final, and that's where Sierra and Dan actually got to really talk to each other for the first time. Dan and his friend were going to the gym later, and Dan asked Sierra if she wanted to join. So of course she did and played ping pong with Dan and his friend. Fast forward one week later, and Dan texted Sierra "Hey, so how are your ping pong skills coming?". They ended up finding out that they both watched the Bachelor and decided to meet up at the Kent State library so Sierra could help Dan join the online fantasy league. Yes, Sierra was so surprised that she finally found a guy who liked the Bachelor. Their first official one-on-one hang out was at Dan's apartment and they talked for hours (literally) all about themselves while Dan made Sierra his signature French pressed coffee. Unknowingly to him, he was going after one of the few girls in the world who doesn't like coffee. Their first official date out in public was at the movies (I mean, of course, have you met Dan?) They saw the movie called The Winchester (it sucked), so they snuck into another movie (scandalous, I know!). Soon, they were hanging out everyday and even completing the Triple Atomic Challenge at Quaker Steak & Lube. Dan officially asked Sierra to be his girlfriend on Valentine's Day in 2018 while they were ice skating. October 2018 was when Sierra was student teaching and going to graduate in December. Dan was only a junior at the time and scared that he found the person he could never break up with; so naturally, he broke up with her. Their relationship was too real. They remained friends (even best friends they would say) after this. Sierra graduated from Kent State in December 2018 and moved to Myrtle Beach, SC the following summer in July 2019 to start her teaching career. Distance didn't matter for them. One night, Sierra had to stay late at school and she had a missed call from Dan. He called and said "You'll never guess what happened. You know how I jokingly applied to that job at Amazon and had an interview for it?! Well, they offered me the job in Seattle!" Sierra was so excited for her best friend but her heart sank knowing she would literally be across the country from him. Dan came and visited her in Myrtle Beach a few weeks later during his fall break and they talked about how they were going to be so far away from each other starting summer 2020. It was clear there were still feelings and it would be hard to be that far apart. January 2020 rolls around and Dan asks Sierra THE question: "Will you move to Seattle with me?". Sierra knew she wanted to say yes, so she did! Dan visited her again in mid-March 2020 right before COVID started. He asked her to be his girlfriend once again and ended up staying for 3 months (it was basically a living together trial) and it was going SO well. They moved to Seattle in July 2020 and Dan proposed to Sierra on October 12, 2024 in their apartment filled with candles and bouquets of flowers.

They have lived in a suburb outside of Seattle together since July 2020. Since moving there, they have travelled all over the U.S., including Hawaii, South Carolina, Ohio, Florida, Oregon, and Nevada. They also have been to Mexico, The Netherlands, France, and England. They plan on going to Greece for their honeymoon next summer. Dan still works at Amazon as a Software Engineer, while Sierra works at McKnight Middle School as a 6th grade math teacher. Some of their favorite things to do are: travelling, movies, working out, playing soccer, and going out for dinner/drinks.
