Helpful Info for our Beloved Guests!

Our wedding is black tie optional. It’s fun to get all dressed up when you have the chance! The reception is on grass so wear appropriate footwear. Bridesmaids will be in light blue and groomsmen will be in navy blue. We will be having a dry wedding, but bring your best dancing moves!

Our Story ~ How it all Began

From Sarah's Perspective: It was the fall of 2021 and I was looking for a church to call home. By mid-September, I planted roots at The Harbor Church. Soon enough, I was attending their young adults' group - called "Refresh" - where Dan had recently become the leader of their weekly Bible studies. He led with such humility and intentionality for the needs of the group. I admired Dan's wisdom, kindness, and love for God's Word. Overtime, I grew to cherish our friendship. After moving our mutual friend into grad school in the fall of 2022, we started to really hit things off. I was in denial of having any feelings for him, but my dear friend, roommate, and bridesmaid, Rosie, was the ultimate wing woman. With much prying, Rosie finally got me to admit that I liked Dan as more than a friend and wanted to go out with him. We went on our first official date on December 31. While strolling through the Christmas Lights at Roger Williams Zoo, during one of our favorite past-times known as "The Question Game", Dan asked me to be his girlfriend. I immediately said yes. However, quickly took back my yes. After a long conversation in which Dan showed me an immense amount patience, understanding, and care, we drove to a New Year's Eve celebration as boyfriend and girlfriend. YAY!! Since then, we have grown as a couple in such beautiful ways. We conquer the New York Times Connections on car rides together, star on our own episode of Chopped anytime my dietary restrictions change, share the excitement of any and every adventure, and most importantly, demonstrate Christ's immense love for each other. Here's to how it all began, how far we've come, and all that lies ahead! From Dan’s perspective: She was the girl with very strong opinions about aquariums (ask her about it). I didn’t have any feelings for her at the time, but one of the first things I noticed about Sarah was how well spoken and confident she was. She was also very kind, caring, and considerate to the people around her. I remember her checking in on me and asking what ways she could help with our young adult bible study when I felt like few did. I greatly admired the woman of God that I saw, but only as a friend. Fast forward to the fall of 2022. We both had people independently point out to us that there was something between us, but we both were strongly in denial about it. After lots of prayer and thought, I asked Sarah out on a date and we eventually went… 6 weeks later. I will never forget the date at the Christmas lights spectacular at Roger Williams park, although we can only remember one set of lights from it. Sarah's heart for others, passion for missions and outreach, patience, and ability to make people feel at home, are just a few of many things that I admired back then and still admire now. We’ve had many wonderful times, many hard times, and many times in between, but our love has only grown and I am amazed at what God has done in that time. Here's to the future together!
