A lovely open park in the middle of the town. Lots of stores, coffee shops, and restaurants within a block or two of this central location and plentiful street parking available. It is especially picturesque at night when their light display turns on! It is also surrounded by many great restaurants within a one block radius that feature an eclectic selection of cuisines to suit anyone's tastes! Some of our favorites would be:
They offer great seafood (they have some meals for those of us who are not fans), a hearty guacamole bowl, and the best selection of tequilas in town!
Their specialty is a half rotisserie chicken, so bring plenty of appetite or plenty of friends! Also, do not miss their cornbread starter, served in a cast-iron pan with brown butter drizzle and roasted thyme. Come for that even if for nothing else.
Tasty bagels, tasty sandwiches, a perfect joint to grab a quick bite for breakfast or lunch. Sara and I stop by almost every trip we make to the area. (They have a larger facility on 6th Street if the one on the park looks too crowded.) There are many more spots to indulge in within walking distance - the town is not too big - and parking is free and almost always available anywhere, so please explore if you've never been!
Wonderful little spot (keyword 'little' - it can only accommodate 25 total guests at a time!) with a great atmosphere and bartending staff dedicated to cocktails both delicious to drink and entertaining to watch how they are made. This establishment has a full commitment to the prohibition-era theme, a true Gesamtkunstwerk! (Reservations advised, though they do not accept any on Friday or Saturday.)
One of a handful of thrift stores within a few short blocks of each other. All sorts of hidden treasures on offer, just depends on what you are looking for; or, didn't even know you were looking for until you see something that you absolutely must have. The joys of thrifting.
