What Else Is There To Do?

If you've got the time, why not explore parts of Brooklyn and Manhattan? (Sorry, other boroughs.) Note: New York City has implemented vaccination requirements for indoor activities, including dining, theaters, concert venues, gyms, museums and galleries, night clubs, and more. You will need proof of vaccination, of which the following qualify: your physical vaccination card, a digital photo, the NYC COVID Safe app (accessible to non-NYC residents), and the NY State Excelsior app (only available to those who received their vaccination in New York).
Prospect Park

Prospect Park

95 Prospect Park West, Brooklyn, NY 11225
, (718) 965-8951

We met in Long Meadow and have spent many Saturdays there for quidditch practice. Prospect Park also features a lake and a forest, and includes attractions such as a zoo, skating rink, greenmarket, picnic house, and bandshell. Grand Army Plaza, the Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Public Library, and Botanic Garden are all close by.

Brooklyn Heights Promenade

Brooklyn Heights Promenade

Pierrepont Place, Brooklyn Heights, NY 11201
, (212) 639-9675

For the best view of the Manhattan skyline, go to the Promenade in Brooklyn Heights (right by our venue!). Or if you want to see Manhattan AND Brooklyn, walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. Jane's Carousel and Brooklyn Bridge Park are a short enough walk from the Promenade that you may as well visit them, too.

Central Park

Central Park

New York, NY
, (212) 310-6600

Central Park is gorgeous in the fall—just watch any rom com set in NYC! Check out the zoo and skating rink toward the south end; the Loeb Boathouse, lake, Belvedere Castle, and Great Lawn near the center; or the reservoir and conservatory toward the north.

The Museum of Modern Art

The Museum of Modern Art

11 West 53rd Street, New York, NY 10019
, (212) 708-9400

The MoMA features the works of Monet, van Gogh, Picasso, Warhol, Kahlo, and Pollack, among others. Sam's favorite piece is Monet's Reflections of Clouds on the Water-Lily Pond, which takes up an entire wall.

Rockefeller Center

Rockefeller Center

45 Rockefeller Plaza, New York, NY 10111
, (212) 332-6868

Rockefeller Center is home to Radio City Music Hall, 30 Rock, Rockefeller Plaza, and the skating rink. Shop and eat in the various stores along the underground concourse, take a tour of the NBC studios, or go to the Top of the Rock for views of Central Park, midtown, and downtown NYC. Fifth Avenue, the Avenue of the Americas, and St. Patrick's Cathedral are all worth a look as well.

Chelsea Market

Chelsea Market

75 9th Avenue, New York, NY 10011
, (212) 652-2111

More than 35 vendors fill this block-long food court in the Meatpacking District. Fill up on food before taking a stroll along the nearby High Line, an elevated park built on an old subway track. (Don't give money to anyone pretending to be a monk.)

Katz's Delicatessen

Katz's Delicatessen

205 East Houston Street, New York, NY 10002
, (212) 254-2246

We've been to this iconic deli a few times. Try the pastrami, latkes, or matzo ball soup, but give yourself plenty of time to order, as this place can get busy.

Dekalb Market Hall

Dekalb Market Hall

445 Albee Square West, Downtown Brooklyn, NY 11201
, (929) 359-6555

This is one of our favorite places to eat - we even celebrated our second anniversary here! There's a wide variety of food options, so no matter what you're in the mood for, you'll find it here. Bonus: Katz's has a booth, so you can stay in Brooklyn for your corned beef sandwiches.

For all the days along the way
