Things To Do

Puget Sound Express - Whale Watching Tours

227 Jackson Street, Port Townsend, WA 98368

Ever wanted to see orcas, whales, and other marine wildlife up close? Puget Sound Express runs tours right out of Point Hudson Marina, located next to our wedding venue in Port Townsend. Please notify us if you are interested in taking a tour. We may try putting a group together if there is enough interest. For those arriving early or leaving late, Puget Sound Express also runs tours out of Seattle and nearby Port Angeles.

Point Wilson Lighthouse

200 Battery Way East, Port Townsend, WA 98368

Take a stroll along the beach around this historic lighthouse for ocean and mountain views. For those interested in viewing tidal wildlife, the lowest tides around our wedding date are 12:11 PM on Thursday, 1:00 PM on Friday, and 1:52 PM on our wedding day. The beach along downtown Port Townsend is also an excellent place to see tidal wildlife.

Better Living Through Coffee

100 Tyler Street, Port Townsend, WA 98368

Great coffee and pastries with seaside views...what more could you want?

Velocity

431 Water Street, Port Townsend, WA 98368

We love this place. It's located at the end of the main strip in the same building as our wedding venue. The views from this coffee shop may rival those from Better Living Through Coffee, and the coffee and pastries are hard to beat.

Finistère

1025 Lawrence Street, Port Townsend, WA 98368

If you're looking for a fancy dinner spot, this is the place. Excellent food and drink, and everyone knows it...make sure to reserve a table in advance!

Hanazono Asian Noodle

225 Taylor Street, Port Townsend, WA 98368

Excellent Ramen! We have eaten here many times and have always had a great experience.

Sirens Pub

823 Water Street, Port Townsend, WA 98368

Looking for a pub on the water? This is the spot. Good food and drinks.

Blue Moose Cafe

311-B Haines Place, Port Townsend, WA 98368

No frills and nobody leaves hungry. This breakfast, brunch, and lunch diner is a staple of ours. We go here every time we visit Port Townsend. For those feeling a little rough on Sunday morning...the Blue Moose Café will revive you. It's a popular spot, and you may have to wait a few minutes for a table at peak times. If the wait is too long, head to Key Fish Company (not open on Sunday) around the block for walk-up tacos and burritos.

Propolis Brewing

2428 Washington Street, Port Townsend, WA 98368

Do you like your ale to be Belgian, farmhouse style, funky, and/or interesting? Dan does, and he buys too many bottles from Propolis every time we visit.

The Courtyard Cafe

230 Quincy Street, Port Townsend, WA 98368

Looking for a breakfast spot that you can walk to from your hotel? This place has friendly staff and excellent breakfast and lunch items.

Butcher & Baker Provisions

4719 Northeast State Highway 104, Port Gamble, WA 98364

Looking for a lunch spot on your way to or from Port Townsend? We highly recommend stopping at Butcher & Baker Provisions in Port Gamble. Make sure to walk over and check out the shops in Port Gamble across the streets. If Butcher & Baker is too busy, we recommend walking over to Port Gamble General Store for a sandwich.

Dungeness Spit Trail

715 Holgerson Road, Sequim, WA 98382

For those spending a little more time on the Olympic Peninsula, the Dungeness Spit is truly unique when it comes to beachcombing. After paying the $3 entrance fee in the parking lot, take the short hiking trail down to the shore to stroll along the longest sand spit in the United States. At the end of the 5-mile sand spit sits an historic lighthouse...we've never made it that far because we're too busy watching the wildlife that often swims (porpoises, otters, seals, dolphins) or flies (numerous seabirds, including eagles and herons) just offshore.

Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center

3002 Mount Angeles Road, Port Angeles, WA 98362

For those staying a bit longer on the Olympic Peninsula, Hurricane Ridge is a must-see destination. Located within Olympic National Park, you'll drive up from sea level to 5,000 feet elevation after paying the entry fee and be rewarded with spectacular views of the Olympic Mountain Range and the Salish Sea. Unfortunately the visitor center burnt down in 2023, but you can still find parking and bathrooms up top. While the view from the parking lot is amazing, there are trails of varying difficulty that access additional panoramic views. To hike the iconic Hurricane Hill trail, keep driving past the main parking lot until you reach the end of the road. You'll find a smaller parking lot there. NOTE: For those wanting to enjoy the hiking trails, be aware that there will likely still be snow on the ground.

Sol Duc Falls

WA 98363

For those spending an extended time on the Olympic Peninsula, Sol Duc Falls is a must-see destination. Located within the Hoh Rainforest in the Olympic National Park, The 1.5 mile relatively flat hike to the waterfall winds through old growth rainforest. We highly recommend wandering through very short the Ancient Groves Trail on your way to/from the Sol Duc Falls Trailhead. You can also take a dip in nearby Sol Duc Hot Springs for those interested. For a scenic jam-packed day, consider seeing Hurricane Ridge in the morning and Sol Duc Falls in the afternoon!

Lake Crescent

WA 98363

For those spending an extended time on the Olympic Peninsula, Lake Crescent is another must-see destination. Walk the lakeside trails lined with the unique Madrona trees, and make your way out to the Lake Crescent pier for a stunning view.
