We met while Rachel was working on the Hill and Dan was in the Coast Guard, stationed outside of D.C. We met for coffee in D.C. and really hit it off, but Dan thought Rachel was too good for him and would never want to date him. A few months later, she reached out and they went on a few more dates. At CPAC 2023, right before Trump's speech, Dan formally asked her to be his girlfriend. She said, "yes" and the rest is history.
