It was an ordinary Sunday, it was Daniel’s first time attending service at the church where Paola attended. Paola was one of the singers in the worship team, the pastor asked Daniel to help with playing the guitar since he knew that Daniel was the guitar player at his previous church. Daniel went up to play the guitar and out of the corner of his eye, he saw Paola in the corner, singing with this shy look on her face. Daniel, being the nice guy that he is, smiled at her (she thought he was weird). After church Daniel went up to Paola and told her that she had a nice voice and that she should sing louder and not be so shy… yea that was not a good idea. Paola thought that he was a “presumido” (stuck up) A week later, the youth of the church where Paola went to invited Daniel to a trip to Silverwood, Daniel was hesitant, but with a little bit of encouragement from his sister, he decided to go. When Daniel arrived at the church to meet with the youth group, Paola was surprised and asked herself “what is the California guy doing here” On their way to Silverwood the first thing they found out was that they cannot take naps during road trips, and since everyone else was asleep but them two, they ended up conversing all the way to Idaho. During their conversations, they found out they both don’t like roller-coasters, crazy, right? They were literally on their way to a rollercoaster park. Once they arrived at the park, they both walked around, talking, and getting on the kid's rides. Once the trip was over they both thought they wouldn’t talk to each other anymore, little did they know that they lived 7 minutes away from each other or 20 minutes if the train decided to cross. Both Paola and Daniel continued talking and seeing each other at church, and well, now the rest is history, and here you are getting ready to celebrate their wedding with them.
We all know the saying “when you know, you know” well… Daniel knew! Without searching for it, Daniel had fallen in love and knew that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Paola, crazy right?! So, just eleven months after they met, Daniel proposed to Paola. Daniel with the help of Paola’s parents and his parents arranged things so we could all spend the weekend together. Daniel’s parents came to Washington for the weekend to be present on this day. It was a beautiful Saturday in August, they spent the whole day with both of their families, they had a family photo shoot and they all took a ferry to Bremerton Island. At the end of the day when they came back from Bremerton Island, Daniel told Paola that he wanted to take extra photos in front of the Seattle Great Wheel in Pier 57. He’s always liked Ferris wheels because to him it symbolizes the ups and downs of life and also relationships -and it should be noted that their relationship has been like a Ferris wheel. So, there they were walking on pier 57 and taking some photos when Daniel kneeled and asked Paola to marry him. Daniel really thought he was being smooth and sneaky about the whole proposal but later he found out that Paola started to suspect this was happening when he started to say all these nice things to her. They ended the day celebrating with both of their families, eating tacos :) and that was just the best day ever.
