We met at an OCF College Conference in California 2014--Ironically, during a "Speed Dating" ice-breaker - Daniel saw at Nora and thought, "WOW...she, is, beautiful!" 2 years later, we reconnected through cat videos on Facebook. Daniel tagged Nora and her roommate in videos, moved it to messenger; eventually the chat became just us two (Nov 2016). Nora yearned for deep, spiritual, fulfilling partnership, and Daniel was saturated with spiritual depth--he was kind, gentle, understanding, genuine, sincere...and Nora could not get enough. Daniel noticed how intently and lovingly she ate up his words. We knew we loved each other; friendship developed slowly and naturally. Messages once a week turned into calling each other every day over the course of months. February of 2017 - Nora was single, we were talking every single day. Nora went on a date, but quickly realized she wished that person was Daniel. In the bathroom she called Daniel, and told him she could NOT stop thinking about him. We expressed our love for each other (Daniel likes to brag that Nora said "I love you" first), and finally started dating! Our first time seeing each other in person was Holy Week 2017, where we spent our time being in services 2-3 times a day. First date was on Palm Sunday, with a promise ring given on Pascha. Nora came back to New York May 2017. After looking at engagement rings, we visited the Kardiotissa/"Tender Heart" Myrrh-streaming icon of the Mother of God in Pennsylvania, seeking the blessing of our Holy Mommy. We were blessed under the icon, with myrrh dripping right on the promise ring. 4 days later was Pentecost. We both, at separate times, noticed the awe-striking new beauty of the ring during Divine Liturgy. This was to be the engagement ring, which Nora decided and gave it to Daniel. "This is the ring - when you give it back is when you propose." Daniel gave back the ring that night, proposing on Pentecost at the Hudson River. Glory to God for All Things!!
