Dan and Nicole met where all great things happen; the Milwaukee Public Museum! Nicole was working as the Event Coordinator, and Dan was doing events with Majic Productions. Little did the other know it, but they both fell in love at first sight. But work came first, and they decided not to broach the subject with the other. Three years after they first met, they still hadn't expressed their feelings for one another, let alone even asked for the other's phone number. Until the MPM Gala of 2019, when the lighting design was so complicated, they just had to exchange numbers so there could be speedy communication between them. And they've been talking every single day since then.

There wasn't as proposal so much as the purchase of a ring. Working with A Trio jewelers down in the Third Ward, they (mostly Nicole) designed the engagement ring of her dreams. During her lunch break at work on August 19th, they went to pick up the ring from the jewelers. She put the ring on to make sure it fit, then looked at Dan and said, "You do realize I'm never taking this off, right?" And with that, they walked out of A Trio a newly-engaged couple.
