FAQs

Back when I studied political science in undergrad, I learned an interesting story about the University of Virginia. My professor told me that -- after the many buildings had been constructed at the university -- the able architects went to Thomas Jefferson and said "Mr. Jefferson, where would you like us to put the walking paths?" In response, Jefferson replied "where the people decide to walk!" There is a larger metaphor here about the perils of centralized planning. But, as it pertains to the FAQ page of my website, I'll let you all ask me questions first, and then I'll answer them after. How else am I to know what is actually a "frequent" question? So email me questions at daniel.f.strunk@gmail.com!
Question

Will there be transportation from hotels to and from the wedding venue (LionRock Farm)?

Answer

We will have shuttles to and from LionRock Farm on Saturday evening from the following hotels: Litchfield Inn (2:45pm), Locust Tree Bed & Breakfast (2:45pm), Inn at Iron Masters (3:00pm), and Millerton Inn (3:20pm). After the reception concludes at 10pm, shuttles will depart from the venue for these same four hotels. For those who want to stay to enjoy the After Party, further shuttles will depart at midnight for these same four hotels.

Question

Will stuff be outside?

Answer

Yes! Both wedding ceremonies will take place outside. The dinner on Friday and the reception on Saturday will take place outside, underneath tents. For women who plan to wear heels, please know that you will very likely walk on grass.

Question

Is there an After Party following the Saturday reception?

Answer

Yes, just a short walk from the Reception tent, at the Groom's House (located at 1 Hosier Road).

Question

Kids or no kids?

Answer

While we love kids (Mo is a pediatrician, after all), we are keeping the wedding to strictly adults, please!

Question

Is it easy to get Ubers or Lyfts in the area?

Answer

Alas, Ubers and Lyfts are not readily available in the area, and we recommend against relying on them. A better bet is to rent a car or carpool with other guests. Please also remember that we are arranging transportation to/from the LionRock venue on Saturday. If you do want to use Uber or Lyft, we recommend that you use the "schedule in advance" feature on the Uber or Lyft app (although, in Daniel's experience, this is a hit-or-miss feature on those apps, even if you're in a major metropolitan area).
