We've been watching the Covid-19 situation closely, and out of concern for the health of our loved ones, we've made the painful decision to cancel our large wedding celebration in San Clemente. Instead, we will be having a small ceremony with only our immediate family in San Francisco. Please think of us on Nov. 7th as we exchange our vows. This is not how we envisioned entering our next chapter, but we are doing so with an even greater appreciation of life and love. We are grateful for each and every one of you being a part of our journey. We hope in the near future we will get to celebrate with all of you! Sending love and good health, Melissa & Daniel
Daniel and Melissa first met on the last day of school in 2016, both celebrating that another school year was in the books. They became acquaintances, having friends in common who frequented the same bar (Pops!) and bonded over educator horror stories. Soon after, they realized Daniel picked up students for his after school program at the same school Melissa was the site director at. After a year of fun nights at Pops and small talk at school, Daniel worked up the courage to ask Melissa on a date. However, Daniel, the hopeless romantic that he is, had to think of a grand gesture. Daniel sent his god son (who attended Melissa's school) to deliver a post-it to Melissa. The note read, "Can I take you out? Please check Yes or No box." Fortunately for Daniel, Melissa thought it was a hilarious, yet sweet gesture- not to mention Daniel just got a haircut and massive beard trim so was looking really good- so she said yes. The rest felt like that love at first sight, right place at the right time, meant to be type of love<3
