Who would've thought that a blind pairing for a fraternity date party would lead to a wedding? Thanks again for the matchmaking services, Robby! After hitting it off at the University of Dayton in the Winter of 2015, Mary Ellen and Daniel stayed in touch through the Summer. Realizing they had something special, the two committed to a year of long distance as Mary Ellen returned to Dayton for her senior year and Daniel headed to New York to begin his career. Despite the distance, their relationship continued to gain strength. Mary Ellen landed a job in Washington, DC after graduation, and although not ideal, the two were convinced that another period of long distance wouldn't stand in the way of their love. This belief proved accurate, as the weekends spent together on each's new "home turf" generated memories that will last a lifetime. After numerous unsuccessful attempts to close the distance and thousands of miles logged on trains and busses, Mary Ellen and Daniel ultimately targeted a move back to Metro Detroit in 2020. Through a great deal of perseverance and devotion, late night phone calls and facetimes eventually turned into date nights at local favorites back in Detroit. With distance no longer a hindrance, Mary Ellen and Daniel are so excited to begin the next chapter of their lives together.
