Question

Do I need to RSVP to the Save the Date?

Answer

Not yet, the idea of the Save the Date is to plant the seed and have everyone think about if that weekend will work for them (if travel is needed, where to stay, taking off work, babysitter for the kids, etc.). When invitations are sent out, that is when you can make the decision to RSVP and you have time to decide. No rush!

Question

Can I RSVP online or do I have to mail in an RSVP card? When do I have to get the RSVP in?

Answer

Save the trip to the mailbox and RSVP online on our wedding website under the RSVP tab when it becomes available. If you are having trouble with the online system, feel free to reach out to bride or groom directly and we can mark the RSVP on our end. Please submit your RSVP by October 14, 2023 via the online portal or by contacting the bride or groom.

Question

Will the wedding be adult only?

Answer

Although we love to watch the children laugh and play, we are only able to have select children at our special day.

Question

What time should I arrive at your wedding ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00pm, but you are welcome to arrive early to explore the grounds for a bit before. Admission to the Arboretum is free all day for guests of our wedding, so you are welcome to take advantage of that and get some great pictures in before the festivities begin.

Question

Do I have to pay to get in?

Answer

No, admission and parking is free on the day of the wedding. Please let the gate keeper know you are a guest for the Daniel and Marijana wedding at 5:00pm. It may help to have the invitation in hand. The attendant will also supply parking directions to get you to the correct lot.

Question

Where do I park?

Answer

There is designated parking for the Thornhill Education Center. It is on the west side of grounds. You will need to park in either lot P21 with overflow options in lot P20 and P22. Follow the signs for the Thornhill Education Center. A map will be included with RSVP confirmation with detailed instructions. Please visit: https://mortonarb.org/visit-the-arboretum/parking-and-directions/#parking

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

This time of year can be a bit unpredictable, so we will assess close to the event date. We have the option of incorporating some time outdoors weather permitting, but want to reassure everyone that there is a backup plan and no one will be stuck in the cold. It would not hurt to have an extra layer (sweater, jacket, shawl, etc.) just in case. The Arboretum is gorgeous year-round so we are excited to be able to be one with the trees and surrounded by friends and family.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Quick answer is Cocktail/Black-Tie Optional: Suits and cocktail dresses are best, but tuxes and gowns are welcome. Ultimately we want you to be comfortable to dance, move, and eat freely, so dress nicely and comfortably! If you would like to take pictures outside in the grass and trees, just be sure to consider your shoe choice or bring an extra pair just in case.

Question

What should I expect after the ceremony?

Answer

The whole event will be taking place in the same vicinity, so stay close for cocktail hour that will begin immediately following the ceremony. This time will also be used for family to take pictures and get those posed photos done, so the rest of the night is open for fun.

Question

Will there be meal options for guests with dietary restrictions or allergies?

Answer

Yes! As many of you know, the bride has some dietary restrictions herself, along with some allergies, so this has not been forgetten. Part of the RSVP will include a section to include any dietary restrictions or severe allergies that we can notify the catering service of. The more specific you are the easier it is for us to help choose a meal that can suit your restrictions.

Question

Can I post wedding photos on social media?

Answer

Sure! Feel free to post until your heart is content on social media. We do have a wedding hashtag that you can use to tag the event, #BlackburntoBe. There will be professional photography and videography to document the whole day as well that will be available to all after the event, just in case you miss a few shots.
