Daniel Herrington

Groom

Jeffrey Daniel Herrington was born in Denton, Texas and grew up in Denton and Gainesville before relocating to Fort Worth as a young adult. He is a devoted father and works hard for his family at Fischer 59. His favorite foods are steak and Tex Mex, especially street tacos. Metallica and Pantera are two of his favorite bands, and Daniel enjoys dabbling in learning guitar riffs on his electric guitar. In addition to music, sports are a favorite pastime, namely football and basketball. Go Cowboys and Mavericks!


Lynsey Kenyon

Bride

Her Royal Highness Lynsey Christine Kenyon, the First, of The United States of America was born in 1991 and grew up in Plano, Texas. She enjoyed dancing ballet throughout her childhood and loves the color pink, tutus, tiaras, princesses, shopping, and arts and crafts. Her faith is important to her, and she values fellowship with other believers at church. Lynsey was a nanny by profession and cared for 12 children as a foster parent. Her dream of becoming a mother became a reality July 12, 2019 with the adoption of Jayla. Being Mommy to Layla and Jayla and now Lynley as well is the hardest, best thing ever!

Layla Herrington

Petal Princess

Layla is a smiley, talkative little girl. She and her big brother, Devin, lost their biological mother, Taryn Stewart, when she was a baby, but Layla has been well cared for by Daniel. She has a flair for the dramatic and loves singing. She likes hot pink and butterflies and is looking forward to attending pre-kindergarten in the fall.


Jayla Kenyon

Petal Princess

Jayla came to live with Lynsey and Lynette when she was six months old, and Lynsey was able to adopt her when she was 20 months old. She overcame a lot at a very young age and is now thriving with her mommy, daddy, and sissy. She is a silly, spunky little girl who likes to climb, spin in circles, and dance. Her favorite toys, by far, are her baby dolls.

Lynley Herrington

Bridal Baby

Lynley Anna Danielle was born to Daniel and Lynsey on April 21st. Her debut was dramatic, to say the least, and resulted in many complications. Thankfully, both Mom and Baby are now happy and healthy, and Lynley is beloved as the couple’s third daughter. She is a beautiful addition to the family!


Laura Kenyon

Sister of Honor

Laura and Lynsey grew up together as sisters and share a unique bond. Laura earned a Bachelor's in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Texas in 2017 and recently graduated from medical school at UT Southwestern. She has chosen to pursue a career as an OBGYN. Laura is engaged to Conner Hutcherson, and they will be marrying on September 3rd. Though her studies keep her busy, she always makes time for her family and loves being an auntie. Laura also attends a Bible study group and volunteers regularly. She enjoys cooking and singing.

Mark Jordan Herrington

Best Brother

Jordan is the younger brother of the groom. He and Daniel share a special bond, and Jordan has been there for Daniel through a lot. Jordan is engaged to Sarah Vatteroni, and they will be marrying in September 2022. He works at Miller Distribution Center in Denton, Texas. His favorite things are the Cowboys, music such as Metallica and Jamey Johnson, and going to see movies.


Bob Kenyon

Officiant

Bob grew up as a Yankee in Massachusetts before adjusting to life in the South in his adulthood. He appreciates the arts and a good clam chowder. He and Lynsey have a great relationship, and he has grown to love Daniel as well. Bob and his wife, Carla, generously share their wisdom and offer advice to the bride and groom during weekly video chats.

Parents of the Bride

Bob and Carla married in 2009 and moved from Plano, Texas to Pikesville, Maryland in 2016. Bob has a Doctorate in Educational Technology and is a Professor of Computer Science at Loyola University, and Carla has a Masters in Education and teaches high school mathematics. The couple has a large cat, Jack, and enjoys singing in the church choir and gardening.


Lynette Kenyon

Mother of the Bride

Lynette grew up in Fort Smith, Arkansas and now lives in Plano, Texas. She earned a Bachelors degree in Mathematics/Computer Science from the Arkansas Tech University and a Masters in Statistics from Georgia Tech. She is a Professor of Mathematics at both the University of Texas at Arlington and Collin College, where she is the coordinator of College Algebra, mentors students, and volunteers on many committees. Lynette was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008, but has lived cancer-free for 10 years. She enjoys spoiling her granddaughters, pizza, murder mysteries, and watching football. Lynsey appreciates her generous nature and consistent emotional support.

Jeff Herrington

Father of the Groom

Jeff has called Gainesville, Texas home since he was 11 years old. He served in the U.S. Army as a Tank Commander and now works for the city water department. He considers raising his three sons to be his greatest accomplishment. Jeff enjoys reunions with his former army brethren, is a fan of Classic Rock music, and aspires to play the harmonica. Baseball is his sport of choice.


Lisa and Gus Wolman

Parents of the Groom

As an “Army brat” Gus has lived in Hong Kong, Guam, Alaska, and many other places. Gus is a class of 1972 Texas Aggie and earned a B.S. in Business from A&M. He has owned and operated several businesses. Recently, he retired from his music publishing business to focus on music ministry, as he is a gifted songwriter who wishes to share his love of God with others. Lisa grew up in East Texas and earned her B.S. in Public Administration from Texas Woman’s University. She has been an adjunct teacher in industrial management and has worked for colleges over 20 years, 15 years in financial aid. She loves to read and garden. They both believe that “God, family, and country” should be the focus of their lives, and they consider it a joy to spend time with their 4 sons and 9 grandchildren.

John and Carolyn Gooch

Grandparents of the Bride

John and Carolyn, Lynsey’s maternal grandparents, met on Valentine's Day in 1958, married in July of the same year, and have been together ever since. Their marriage is an inspiration to the bride and groom. They live in Lavaca, Arkansas and have two children, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren (so far). Carolyn is a retired elementary school teacher with a degree in education and enjoys traveling and playing cards with friends. John served in the National Guard, retired from ABF, and enjoys college football and woodworking. Both are staple members of their church and are spiritual mentors to Lynsey.


Russel and Beverly Kenyon

Grandparents of the Bride

The bride's late paternal grandparents, Russel and Beverly, met at First Baptist Church in Plattsburg, NY in 1951 where Bev’s uncle Ralph was the Pastor. They were married in 1955. Russ was an electrical engineer at GE for the first half of his career and taught math and computer science at Lenox High School and various colleges in Massachusetts and New York for the second. Beverly was a 3rd grade elementary school teacher and sang in the choir with Russ. They cherished their 3 children, 5 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandchild. They retired to Sun City, Florida and enjoyed retirement. They were married 61 years before Beverly left us in 2016. Russ continued to live independently until his passing earlier this year.

Dode Little

Grandmother of the Bride

Dode grew up and went to college in Wayne, Nebraska. She was a first and second grade teacher for 36 years in Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota and Kansas. She currently lives in Wichita, Kansas and is busy with church activities, gardening, travel, and going to Zumba and other exercise classes at the YMCA. She has 3 children, 13 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. She dotes on all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, celebrating birthdays and special events as well as keeping up with all their activities on Facebook. She wishes Lynsey and Daniel a long and happy life together and welcomes Daniel and Layla to the family.


Alice Springer

Grandmother of the Groom

Alice is Lisa Wolman's mother and Daniel's maternal grandmother. She was born in Dallas and grew up in the Gainesville area. She worked in home health for 20 years and is now retired. She enjoys spending time with her 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She also loves putting together large puzzles, which she often frames and gives to family or friends.

Nancy and Carl Stockard

Grandparents of the Groom

Nancy (a.k.a. Granny) is Jeff Herrington’s mother. Carl and Nancy married in 1997. Combined, they have 8 children, 12 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. Carl earned a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree from North Texas State University. He served in the Airforce, worked for Texas Instruments and the City of Gainesville, and taught Industrial Arts. Nancy graduated from Lawton High School and earned an Associate Degree from Cooke County College. She worked for the Plainview Daily Herald, at Cooke County College, and as a school librarian. The couple lived in Colorado briefly, moved back to Texas, and now reside in Marietta, Oklahoma. Nancy enjoys singing and taking pictures. Carl likes to fish and garden. Together, they love to travel to beautiful places and hope to see many more!


Bill and Sue Herrington

Grandparents of the Groom

Bill is Jeff's father and Daniel's grandfather. He and Daniel enjoy discussing sports whenever one calls the other. Bill grew up in Plainview, Texas and graduated from Wayland Baptist University. He served in the U.S. Army, worked in financial insurance for 12 years, and then taught management and marketing at North Central Texas College for 23 years. Bill’s wife, Ollie Sue, grew up in Collinsville, Texas and the North Texas area. Her degrees include a Bachelor’s from UNT and a Master’s in Education from TWU. She taught for 27 years and owned and operated day care centers for 10 years. She has 3 children including two daughters and a son adopted when he was four, 9 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Bill and Sue are both retired and share their Christian Baptist faith.

Isaac Snyder

Ring Boy

Isaac is an adorable, usually chill 3 year old boy. He has discovered the big boy potty and is learning to talk and communicate more. He came to live with Lynsey, Lynette, and Jayla when he was two days old and was well loved. They called him Junior and enjoyed having him as part of the family. He now lives in Princeton with his parents, Jason and Janet, big sister Katelynn, and two little brothers. Congratulations to the Snyder family on Isaac and Timothy’s recent adoption!


Matt Robare

Usher

Matt and his wife, Glenda, have been friends of the Kenyon family for over a decade. They are leaders in the Mixed Blessings Sunday school class at Hunter’s Glen Baptist Church and frequently host class events in their home. Glenda is a Property Accountant for Gaedeke Group. Matt is an Electrical Engineer for AT&T and calls Lynsey “his little girl” (even if she is getting married).

Gene Scott

Usher

The Kenyons have known Gene and his wife, Jerri, since Lynsey’s teenage years. Gene teaches the Mixed Blessings Sunday school class at Hunter’s Glen Baptist Church, and is always available for spiritual advice. Jerri does just about everything else for the church family. Gene is a Projects Manager Facilitator, and Jerri retired from Plano ISD. Their friendship is much appreciated!


Shay McElroy

Wedding Coordinator

Shay, of The Art of Weddings, got married herself last April to her husband, Robert, and they have five children. She has been planning events since her teenage years and serving brides of the DFW metroplex since 2006. Her professional goal is to take a client’s vision and “create perfection.” She is talented, attentive, and detail-oriented. She “gets” Lynsey and is always available to answer question after question and offer seasoned advice. Lynsey appreciates Shay going above and beyond to help her plan a very special day- three times, thanks to two postponements!

Brandon Steward

Photographer

Brandon and his wife, Brandie, lead Steward’s Productions. They have been married for 11 years and have three children. Their team will provide all photography, videography, lighting design, and DJ services for the wedding.
