We met at a friends house on New Years when Daniel's family first moved to town. His sister was in my friend group at the time and he was hanging out with another friends brother. Many years later we began talking more when I was in late high school and he was fresh in college. He came home often to hang out and even stayed some days to watch my softball games.
During this time in my life (Kylee) my grandmother was very sick and I was making trips home every weekend to aid my mother in caring for her. There was one weekend that Daniel had suggested we have a date night, as we were due for one and I had a lot on my plate. (Being a Sophomore in college) I fought him on the idea as my grandmother was not getting any better and knew my mom needed me to help her. She ended up talking me into going out as I needed a night to just relax. February 28th was the date to be exact, and Daniel showed up to my house in a suite and tie...to go to Applebee's. So I, obviously, thought I was not dressed up enough and ran back to my room to change again before we could leave, I also talked him into going to Biaggis because we were dressed so nice. Once I was ready and we left he passed our exit and I asked him what he was doing. He said he wanted to show me something at the lake. At this point I turned to him and said, "you're not going to kill me are you?" Which he responded with a chuckle and said no. When we get to the lake there is an area all lit up with candles and roses. There is a necklace that was sitting on the railing (part of my late Valentine's day gift) and when I turn around to question why he did all of this for a necklace he was behind me on one knee. He had been planning it for weeks and my mom was even in on it!
