Our Story

Daniel and Kenzie met during their senior year of high school at Zionsville Community High School. Kenzie had moved to Zionsville the year prior, but their first interactions weren’t until Mrs. Carlson’s senior English class, where Daniel tried his best to woo the pretty new girl and stand out amongst the flock of boys searching for her attention. After many failed jokes, romantic gestures, and a small bit of begging, Kenzie agreed to go to prom with Daniel. Following prom, their love story took off and, with Louie’s approval, Kenzie and Daniel became boyfriend and girlfriend. They spent that summer writing a love story that would carry them into college where they both attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Throughout college, they had many adventures together but ultimately went separate ways upon graduation. Kenzie and Daniel spent over a year apart from each other before destiny seemingly brought them back together for a final time. Kenzie had accepted a job as a dietitian at Riley Children’s Hospital, which happened to be next door to the building where Daniel was earning his Physician Assistant degree. Though separated, they had unknowingly been beside each other for an entire year before one day, fatefully running into each other in the parking garage. From there, their love for one another took off once more and Daniel and Kenzie began a life together in Indianapolis. During their time apart, Daniel had told himself that if they were to ever be pulled back together again, he would ensure that this time it was permanent. He bought a ring, set a date, and after nine years finally asked Kenzie to marry him. Over those nine years, Kenzie and Daniel have shared many experiences including several Indy 500’s, ski trips to Colorado, summer adventures on Lake Michigan, and an 0-8 flag football season. Kenzie has taught Daniel how to be a better man and to father an opinionated American Bulldog. She has helped him stay organized, taught him how to communicate, tried to teach him how to vacuum, and even trained him to complete his first half-marathon. Daniel has been a constant source of laughter and positivity for Kenzie; reminding her to smile through life and pushing her to pursue her dream of being a self-employed personal trainer and dietitian. Together, they have created a beautiful life together and are excited to share the next chapter of their story with all of their friends and family in Lexington, Kentucky.
