Dan and Kelli met in the midst of the 2020 pandemic matching on a dating app and starting their conversation over Labor day weekend. Kelli started the conversation commenting on Dan's fear of birds and Dan was obliged to share more of his weird quirks. With the help of some liquid courage Dan sent Kelli's his phone number that night because he had a sun burn he had to show her and immediately FaceTimed her over the the next 2 hours talking about life. The conversation continued via text over the coming week until Kelli had enough waiting and asked Dan if he had any plans for that night. Dan smooth as ever responded no plans he is staying in to play video games with his roommate Will. Kelli hinted again asking if he was free since she was free that night for dinner, and finally Dan understood and asked her out for sushi that night. After talking the whole dinner they didn't want the night to end and went for cigars to smoke on the walk home and stayed up late into the night talking on the front balcony. After that first date the rest was history they would be spending every weekend and moment they could together.
