After graduating from The Pennsylvania State University in May 2014, Kaylee moved to Washington DC. Three days into the start of Kaylee's new adventure, she spends the entire day at Ebenezers Coffee Shop where the WiFi is free (but the coffee is not that great). There, she will meet Daniel Porco, who is there on a coffee break from his office, a stone's throw from Ebenezers. After some small chit-chat, Daniel builds enough muster to ask Kaylee on a date. It was at Union Pub where they quickly realized how easy it was to talk to each other. After losing track of time, Kaylee had to leave to attend an event, but not before Daniel asked to walk her home. On the corner of C Street and 3rd Street, a corner that would eventually play a key role in their relationship, Daniel and Kaylee shared their first kiss. From that night on, Kaylee and Daniel were inseparable. Washington, D.C. was the place their love would flourish. Every day would be full of new experiences, with Kaylee and Daniel discovering the beautiful city. It was in DC they shared their first apartment, celebrated promotions, made friends, and made the most beautiful memories together. Frequently traveling up and down I-95 to and from New York, they welcomed new nieces and nephews into the world, celebrated birthdays, holidays and family gatherings together. They built a beautiful life falling more in love with each passing day.
After dreaming about moving back to New York City since day 1 of their relationship, Kaylee and Daniel finally made the final trip up I-95 and into the West Village. As the first weekend of summer in the city approached, they were incredibly excited to head out to Amagansett where Daniel's family owns a home. This is a special place to both Daniel and Kaylee; it is their happy place. After a fun day of hanging with friends at the Sloppy Tuna, Daniel pried the unwilling Kaylee out of the bar to go home and get ready for "dinner reservations." Daniel suggested that they take their ritual walk on the beach before dinner. Except this time there was a twist in store for Kaylee. While strolling down the beach hand in hand looking for sea glass, Daniel proposed on one knee, and Kaylee, of course, said yes, forever transforming their "happy place" into their "special place." Daniel then surprised Kaylee with their families who were hiding in the dunes! The perfect way to celebrate!
We are so excited to gather our closest family and friends to celebrate this special time in our lives! We would like to thank you all for your overwhelming love. We can't wait for the big day!
