Kristen is Kara’s sister, and the officiant of the wedding. Growing up, they could not have been more different. Blonde vs brunette. Athlete vs artistst. Their differences only brought them closer and built an amazing friendship full of laughter (mostly at each other’s expense). Kristen and her husband John are parents to 2 sweet boys, Noah & Luke, who will be the ring bearers.
Sarah Scopel
Maid of Honor
Sarah is Kara’s cousin, best friend, partner in crime and birthday buddy. Wherever Sarah was growing up, Kara was close by. They made the move to Pittsburgh and were roommates for 4 years before going their separate ways. Sarah now lives in Heidleberg with her fiancé Jeff and plans to tie the knot in 2023.
Ashley DeSantis
Bridesmaid
Ashley is married to Kara’s brother Mike and in October welcomed into the world a beautiful baby girl named Giuliana. When most people would have said no, Ashley graciously said yes to letting Mike’s little sister live with them for about a year. She has been a sister and a great friend during the good times and bad and Kara could not ask for a better person to be in her life.
Patrick McCormick
Best Man
Patrick and Dan met in 2012 and have been inspersble since. They were roommates through several career changes before Pat, following in Dan’s footsteps, became an ICU nurse and will soon begin training in Nursing Anesthesia in May 2022.
Shawn McGregor
Best Man
Shawn and Dan have been friends since high school marching band at Montour. Dan was the best man in Shawn’s wedding. Shawn is happily married to Katie with a mischievous toddler, Max, and twin girls on the way, due in December.
