Dan proposed to Julie in Breckinridge Colorado on 05/08/2021. Julie thought they were spending the weekend in Breckinridge to celebrate Mother’s Day with Julie’s family. Mary (Julie’s mom) made reservations for a nice dinner in downtown Breck Saturday night....or so Julie thought. Before dinner, Mary wanted to go to the rooftop lounge to get some family photos...again, Julie thought this was the only plan in the works. Julie got ready for dinner and headed up to the lounge for photos, not suspicious of anything. When Mary started to act strange she had a small suspicion. However, she brushed off the suspicion and carried on with the photo session. As Julie and Dan were getting a photo together, Dan turned to Joe (Julie’s dad) and asked for the ring. Julie exclaimed in excitement “OMG it’s happening tonight!” Dan then got down on one knee and popped the question! Julie answered “of course.” After a champagne toast and more photos, Dan informed Julie that there were never dinner reservations and that everyone was in on the plan including family/friends who came for the special moment and family/friends who were unable to travel for the special day. Don’t worry, Dan still made sure his lovely new fiancé got to eat. He planned an after celebration with pizza and wings (Julie’s favorites).

Julie and Dan met on Hinge in early October 2018. Their first date was at an Italian restaurant in Cherry Creek (North Italia) on October 9, 2018. They hit it off and had their second date on October 13, 2018. Although Julie was already smitten after the first date, the second date confirmed that they had a special connection….leaving Dan just as smitten. The two were in constant communication and hung out whenever possible from then on.
