San Antonio International Airport (SAT) is located about 30 miles from Gruene and is the closest airport to Gruene. The airport features a variety of domestic flights and has numerous on-site car rental services, including major companies like Hertz, Enterprise, Avis, and Budget. From SAT, the drive to Gruene is straightforward—just take US-281 N to TX-46 E. If you are flying in from Seattle, our recommendation is to fly directly into SAT. We typically fly using one of the daily Alaska Airlines flights.

AUS also offers a wide range of domestic flight options and provides on-site car rental services with the same major brands. The route from Austin to Gruene is equally simple: follow TX-130 S to I-35 S, then exit at TX-46 E toward New Braunfels, and you'll find yourself in Gruene in no time.
