Our first date was at 16-Bit bar and arcade in Dublin, Ohio. The plan was to meet up, have a drink, and play some games. That date lasted over 4 hours, and easily could have continued if it had not been a weekday! After we played a few games (that Daniel let Holly win) we went for a walk across the walking bridge in downtown Dublin, and strolled around the area. After a while, it was past dinner time and we decided to get Cane’s for dinner. It was an amazing first date!

Leading up to our Washington DC trip, Daniel told me that he had hired a photographer to capture a session of our first vacation together. While I was suspicious at first, my suspicions grew when Daniel asked me to help him shop for pants for these photos. Those of you who know Daniel well are aware of the fact that he does not like pictures, and he dislikes shopping even more! However, when we got to Washington DC, my suspicions stopped. I will admit that I did a little snooping to see if there was a jewelry box in his suitcase, and after finding none, I thought that I was completely off base. That feeling continued, when I did not see the outline of a box in his pocket on the way to the photos. I fully was convinced that it was just a coincidence and nothing more. When we arrived at the monuments for photos, our photographer was so kind. It was drizzling a little, but not raining fully. He led us to a spot near the water, and said he wanted to take a photo of me alone. That’s when Daniel stepped in and proposed! It turns out that he had hidden the ring box, and tucked it into the top of his pocket so that his shirt concealed the outline of the box. I was so exited and surprised. I love the way he proposed, and the photos that we have to accompany that special moment 💜
