Daniel and I first met when we were both living in Columbus! He was beginning his career as a special education teacher and I was in my first year of graduate school for speech language pathology. We quickly hit it off! For our first "official" date, Daniel took me to a Columbus Blue Jackets game and pizza afterwards. About a month after just hanging out, Daniel asked me to be his girlfriend. In my second year of graduate school, Daniel and I moved in together and certainly learned a lot about each other! We also got our dog, Theo. After I graduated graduate school, Daniel and I decided we wanted to move back to Cleveland to be closer to both our families. For about a year, we lived downtown before purchasing our Condo in Chagrin Falls. Now, for the engagement.... I knew Daniel had a ring for a few months and I (along with our families) were anxiously waiting for him to ask. One night, Daniel had offered to go pick up the Cheesecake Factory. He had mentioned the food was going to be ready at 6:30 but he was not still home till 7:30. When I called him, I heard my dad talking in the background, and of course Daniel, my mom, and my dad all denied it. I had a feeling Daniel was over there asking my parents permission (and I ended up being right!) Daniel was going to plan to ask me on our NYC trip over 4th of July. However, if you know me, you know I am a type A person and I was too anxious about waiting. Daniel ended up popping the question in our new condo right before we left for NYC.
